Renault 14

Anyone know of or want to sell a Renault 14? I'm highly interesting in owning one, as it is one of my favourite cars. Please post me a message or add a link regarding an advert; if you know anything about selling one.

Many thanks

Hello and welcome, nice to see another Renault 14 nut!!

I had to go to France for mine, there are hardly any UK survivors left!!

I would only sell mine if someone had something extremely interesting to swap for it!!

Hello and welcome, I inherited my fathers Renault 14 TS in 1997 its a 1981 on a W reg silver grey metallic with a rust coloured interior. The car needs a littls tlc, that is 2 small parts of welding to both front inner wings, new wings and a bonnet which I have already squirelled away. This work was planned to happen over the winter but my 1987 205 jumped the queue. I have planned for this work to be carried out towards the end of the year. Glad to hear from someone else who appreciates these old French cars. If you check on how many cars are left this car is the 1981 model on SORN. I have to agree you will likely have to look over to France for a Renault 14, I will never be likely to sell this car. The only reason this 14 survived was it was waxoyled in July 1981, the waxoyl ran out of the sills for the rest of the summer but the sills remain solid original and unwelded as does the rest of the florpan.

The long lost 'RegieRitmo' of this parish has one, as does the legend that is Mr Bickle. :)

Thanks for answering so quickly. I would love to see a picture of that W reg one! Is it in running order? I know there are only 25 R14s currently taxed and that my chances of seeing one on the road is rather low, but I would love to own one one day. There is only one TS on the road!

Is that the grey one that is currently untaxed? I've seen the thread with the blue R14 rescued from that house in Gloucestershire; a really good thread I must say.I would love to know if it is working know!

My uncle had a timewarp 14 TL inherited from his neighbour. Ridiculously low mileage, mint condition, weird but cool blue/green paintjob. Gloriously povo. I think he traded it for a ford ka !!! I suppose they're not thought of as mega rare in France. I'll have to ask him about it when i see him next.

the TS is pretty high on my want (but never to be had) list. phwoaar.

25 on the roads, isn't too bad, and more than I was expecting, can't remember the last time I saw one ... just be patient, keep checking ebay/gumtree/forums etc. one will turn up, but if you're impatient then as said there's more choice on the continent but in lhd flavour.

There are 'a few' out there, even if DVLA doesnt know about them:-

Heres' mine -out for the first time in very many years

The amount left may be less if you look at the breakdown of the year registered, 19 excluding the white one owned by someone on here were registered after the year 2000. If I connected a set of jump leads to my car it would start and drive, a bit noisey due to an exhaust blow, the reason the car was off the road the road to begin with as I could not get a front pipe and did not want to pay to have one made. As I said earlier I now have all the parts to put back on the road. I will scan a few photographs of the car taken aprox 6 years ago and post them later today. The mileage on the car is around 58000 miles from new, I know this to be correct as my father bought the car new in March 1981, trading in a 1978 Renault 5 GTL in sea green metallic. I still have the original purchase invoice for the car showing this vehicle as the trade in.

Welcome along, I hope you find a '14 :)

Whatever happened to Regie_Ritmo anyway? Would love to hear more about his 14!

I think regie_rit bought so many model cars that he was unable to get near his computer any more and thus disappeared from the internet

Hi Alex. Welcome! :D

Good luck in your quest for a R14

There's a few on here, too...

Trovit.fr/it/de etc is always a good place to look.

As is mobile.de. If a car for sale on Germany has the TUV (German MOT) it's likely to be in really decent condition as the German test is way stricter than ours. A few really nice-looking examples here

Regie Ritmo founds gurls -one, specifically.

Now spends a lot of his time with new t'other half in Mums Saab cabrio. I'm sure he'll return to the fold -eventually.

Its sitting, quietly in his Mums garage. His Mk1 Strada is sititng quietly in a Council lockup

I don't think that How Many are Left Site is accurate. According to the DVLA there were zero 14's MOT'd in 2008. According to How Many are Left there have been several Renault 14L's imported, which is a bit strange as the L was extremely rare from what I can gather!!

Hoping to get to some rally/shows with mine this year.

For a car launched in 1876 the styling certainly was ahead of its time. It could have been launched in 1986 and not looked out of place
