J plate, star silver, black leather, 3.0 24v CD automatic, 10 cd changer, drives stonkingly well and isn't bad on fuel.

I was going to do a few little jobs on it to make it just a little bit prettier, but if you want it as it is, bring £695 in cash to my house and drive it away.

12 months MOT. Taxed until the end of April. Four newish Michelins with plenty of tread. 102,600 miles.

If you're planning on turning up with no cash, checking every last bloody thing on it, going on a big old test drive and ignoring everything I tell you about the car I'd rather you don't waste my time. If, however, you want a nice old Senator 24v for sensible money, bring cash.

It'll be advertised elsewhere shortly, but I thought I'd give you lot first refusal.

Ta. 07731 744088.

I hope someone here buys that, Pete, it would be an awful shame for it to drift out of the "family" now. Best of luck.

I suspect it'll end up being stripped of the engine for a Manta (Yawn), or drifted by a Retro Rides type..... Still, first with the cash gets it.

Ta for the good wishes though, Ed.

Someone would bin that for it's engine? Thats frigging criminal!!

I bet it would be loads nicer to drive than my Volvo, and be no worse on petrol!

Posted

It drives insanely well. Albert who owned it never ever thrashed it in the 15+ years he had it.

As for fuel, I'm getting 22-24 around town, 27-29 on a run.

This is one of those cars that in years to come, I'll be saying to folk "I could have had one of them for less than £700!" Bother.

Blimey you just dont realise how rare these are nowadays, I don't anyway. i reckon if I saw one parked up at the road side i'd go and take a photo and put my greasy face on the window, WOW I'VE NOT SEEN ONE OF THESE FOR YONKS!!! Great cars too, I love em.

Judging by yr Facebook post Pete it sounds like you had a lousy day yesterday!

Thought this one was a keeper.

Shit this thing is tempting as Im not gelling with this Golf.

I can't imagine it'll hang about at this price, but if you do still have it when the Golf has gone then I'll be beating your door down...

It really is a nice car, I've been using it every day and I'd happily keep it under normal circumstances. However, the 604 should finally be MOT'd next week and that also has to go. The Jag is probably going as well. The Escort and Jeep will be going.

I was after this Senator for ages, I wasn't going to say no when it became available, but unfortunately it happened at the wrong time.

Still, it's another one off the bucket list.

Still for sale, but interest has been shown....

(On other forums, I'd just write "BUMP")

Quite possibly sold. If it is sold, it's staying within the AS fleet, which is nice.

Posted

Be nice to see it stay within Autoshite. To be honest at that price it's an absolute bargain, so someone will get very lucky. I'm all shited out and skint or I'd have been all over this.

There should be a nice road trip thread on Sunday. Someone on here has grabbed a rather nice Senator.

At the moment transport is being provided by rml245's intergalactically miled British Leyland Yaris... roadtrip ahoy!

They did indeed Pete, and I'm properly jealous of whoever bought it.

Damned poverty...

This should be fun.... If I get enough time to myself tomorrow and do the few little MOT jobs in time, I might even treat you to a spin in Ye Olde 604.

Yay! Glad this is not only staying in the family, but also generating some further tales of M6 derring-do :D
