Lex Mead

If anyone can help they'll probably be on this board! My Montego was sold to the first owner by Lex Mead of Bexleyheath, and I'd quite like to get a dealer sticker made up. Does anyone know if Lex group had dealer specific stickers or a single generic Lex Mead one, and either way does anyone have any artwork such as the Lex Mead logo or other Lex Mead window stickers that might help me mock one up for my car?

Thanks all - and as this thread needs a pic of some shite, here's the car it'll be going in.

Thanks chaps. Problem with that one is that whilst I'm a dab hand at photoshopping, I'm awful at identifying fonts. And I cannot get it right using that pic as a guide...

I do have the original tax disc holder, but I can't get my camera in to photograph it perfectly straight and I daren't remove it in case I can't get it back on.

That's a beautiful Montego you have there, lovely colour!

Is the font 'Helvetica'?

I'd see if there's a reference book of fonts in the local library in the graphic design section, or ask nicely at the local art and design college library.

They still had them when I worked in an FE college Library 6 years ago. Then you can take the tax disc holder with you.

Pedant mode* 'typeface' *mode off.

I hate Winduhs Office corruption of the English language.

Nice 'tego.

I always think of Lex Mead as being some made Master Criminal from a Superman film, but played by Michael Kitchen.

Mwwaaaaahahahahahahahaha!!

Thanks for all the lovely comments! There's a lot needs doing to it - one of the wings needs attention as there's a huge crease in it (Not the one ARG put there!), it needs a new grille as the lacquer's peeling and there's a lug missing, and both bumpers have scuff marks, fading black strips, and fading chrome trim. I've got all the stuff I need to sort this, just need to get it done!

I've tried Helvetica and it's perfect - if anyone has a Lex Mead car and wants the artwork, please drop me an email at [email protected] - full size it's a bit big to stick on a forum, and if I post a small one for people to blow up it'll lose definition :)

Actually, whilst were on the subject. Does anyone have or know where I can get myself a 'Reg Vardy' sticker. the one on the Micra has curled up, baked and broken off.

Sort of looks like this, only with a Red/Claret background;

My holy grail is a Jessups of Southend Vauxhall window sticker, mid-70s vintage. Anyone?

Posted

Never seen a Jessups one that old. I have seen a few old keyrings and such from Woodyatts Vauxhall on Milton Road, Westcliff who I think were Jessups' predecessors. If it helps Jessups had loads of different branches and the sticker may have been a generic one?

Any pictures of the car it would be destined for?

IIRC Jessops are still trading on the A12 at Gants Hill, may be worth a call direct?

Be GR88 to get this as a window sticker...

Chase - I knocked this one up quickly (In MS Paint because lets face it, I've never had photoshit and I dont really know how to use it properly) so if you know any sticker maker, then you can take this design to them:

Angry Dicky...

The Jessups sticker would go on the ample rear windscreen of this baby:

Deffo supplied by Jessups of Southend, Milton Road, Westcliff-on-Sea - got the dealer stamp on the original V55
