Saw another in central Bristol today, so they are out there. It was in that metallic green they all seemed to come in, and was in good nick apart from the very tatty original alloys.

So that's what the weird green car is at our local petrol station! It must be someone who works there as it's parked there pretty much all the time, stuffed in beside the car wash.

I always meant to ask this here - I assumed there was a danger using something with a piezo-electronic shutter near petrol fumes (as CB radios were deemed dangerous back in the day for fear of an RF arc).

True or nonsense?

I did actually Tayne, and totally forgot until now!

Old age I guess :D

I love these Hindsights, I think our Honda dealer was trying to offload one (probably the only one here) for ages, wonder if they've exported it now.

I reckon they're the sort of car that will soon polarise into two sorts of values/conditions, a bit like Nissan Figaros seem to (from my limited observations/experience).

A Good nick, owner knows what it is = 10 grand,

B slightly fucked, needs work, owner no longer cares = 200 quid.

Ratio of A versus B = approx 50:1.

Probably to prevent too much weight transfer onto the rear wheels. Some people do have more money than sense, however!

Saw one at a shop carpark today

And half an hour later another rocked up

Got bored waiting to see how many more would rock up, and the carpark had nicer objects of lust.

They've not been bought back by Honda or anything, I would assume that they're all enthusiast owned and they're just not looking to sell and/or passed through more specialist sites rather than Autotrader and the like. I think you can upgrade the battery, I'm sure 100mpg is possible (although possibly with said upgrade).

The Insight does, if you screw up your eyes a lot, look a bit like the GM EV1, most of which were repossessed and KRUSHED when GM decided they couldn't be arsed supporting the project any more (it wasn't exactly a contribution to their profits). Shades of the GS Birotor also?

I'm a bit wary of these early Insights/Civics/Priuses...

Don't the batteries have just a 10 year life cycle and need replacing at the cost of a few thousand pounds?

There is a company that sells new batteries and they are indeed a couple of thousand pounds each...:shock: But still, I'd like one!

Thanks, M'coli. :)
