The following are noteworthy IMO.

Fujimi released this:

Which I think is the first 007 themed kit since the Doyusha DB5 from the 80s.

However, they are going to follow it up with the street version:

Aoshima releases the Datty in '83 New Zealand Rally guise:

And Hasegawa announced an N360.

Norev is suspiciously news free.

There should have been a lot of new Norev releases last year but sadly there weren't. They've just replaced / sacked / terminated the UK importer too and replaced them with another which almost definitely means the price will go up significantly. Shame as the recent reduction in trade and correspondingly retail prices had done wonders for Norev sales which had picked up nicely.

Not sure on that Magnum, I've been told twice now that its an Otto but I'm not sure having looked at it. Difficult to know from a picture though.

It seems to be relatively firmly established now that it's a Solido.

However, Solido is currently managed by OTTO, so that's where the confusion might have started.

Norev, hmmm...
They never released the shop version of the HY.

citroen-hy-magasin-1969-421183680-en_01.

Neither the standalone Henon caravan and AFAIK also not the Renault Goelette fire engine.
So either they are too busy doing Mercedesesses for Mercedes, or they are in trouble.

Norev spent 2015 concentrating on manufacturing dealer stuff and part works by all accounts. Shame as some of the new stuff we've had from them recently is very good indeed.

Posted

ICM just announced that they will expand their 1/24 Ford T range with a fire engine:

Sigh...

I was so hoping for another Opel, or the 770K in 1/24. Or the Packard V12.

The quality is unbeatable in this price bracket. But if they continue to neglect their common client base in favour of a few selected key accounts,

they will knee deep in shit soon.

hmmmmm, mini clubman estate, how lovely.

not that i could afford to go and buy one as i imagine that the price of these is eye wateringly high!

If you pester Mr Lobster long enough it'll be sub ton.

Something entirely different - that Revell decided to do the Isetta in 1/16 will cost them a lot of sales, no?

I'd forgotten that AMT used to make that Scirocco. I remember when I used to trawl American E-bay for truck model kits when I first registered in about 2002. That Scirocco used to pop up occasionally...

Are they re-issuing that Ford C600 stake truck then???

Posted

The C600 Stake was last reissued in 2010, so there are still plenty of them out there.

Looks like they now unload another batch onto  their unsuspecting dealer network.

The Scirocco was last seen as a Matchbox-AMT back in the 80s, so this is a reissue I'm really looking forward to.

I had the mercedes transporter in the 70's - it came with obligatory volvo, x/19 etc.

There was waste ground near my parents house ( at the bottom of Mill Brow, Widnes), at the time I used to look at an identical mercedes tractor unit that was parked there.

Am I the only one who always was disappointed as a kid that car transporters usually came with a variety of cars?

I always wanted mine with the same cars on it, just different colours. Which wasn't available, or course.

I know...it was my gripe as well.   Especially when they started adding rally cars and the Saint Volvo to the mix.  WTF?   Pinewood Studios and Team Hartwell on tour together???

RRP will be in the £130 region. As the man of junk says, we can get it to around the £100ish mark probably. Still night cheap but the Cult stuff is very, very good.

Their P6 is just a dream. A dream without any opening features, mind, but a dream nonetheless.

I try to avoid resins where I can, but sometimes it's impossible.

On the subject of the Opel badged Shove-it, I have had for quite a while the Polski partwork issue, which is Vauxhall badged, left hand drive, and on Polski plates. a real oddball, it sat on Rostyles, but has done a wheel swap with a vanguards Cortina Mk2. It's not a bad little thing. I'm looking forward to Oxford's Firenza in 1/43, and I see theiy have lots of interesting shite planned for their 1/76 range, including a rep tastic Sierra and Cavalier Mk2!

That transporter was sold separately...

I just added some of my junior models.

I'd like some kind of road set. The pictures would look much better.

That Superfast Land Rover i have , for some reason one wheel has lost its chrome. Now, i have a Lotus Europa chassis with a similar wheel i could use ..I can get it off if i snip the rivited end of the axle , any ideas on how to get it on the Land Rover ?  Axles are too hard to re rivit..

Pot of Humbrol silver paint, small (size 000) brush.  Job done.  Trust me, done it many times.

Posted

I have bat sight and fingers like chicken drumsticks but I have done as Eddy said - the "spokes" are raised a little to aid wipe-off of excess.  Particularly now you have seperate the base it should be easier to keep the wheel still.

Having said that could you not swap the whole axle?

Even better swap them both over for regular black plastic wheels and sell for £££!

Posted

I has swapped the whole Europa axle into the Land Rover !!  . i didn't realise the LR in gold has 3 part chassis and the semi circular bits just clip on and off to release the axle complete.. The new axle wheels are a bit worn, but have the silver foil still.. If i put the blue ones chassis onto the gold body  , thats then a rare ££££££ model !

I've got the same Metro model, and some Opaline Green paint. One day I'll get round to doing the same.

While I'm here, I'm not a big model collector but I've just bought this...

Fancy a collection of shite 80s superminis. Suspect it could get expensive.

i knew a girl who had a Nova "Swing" but in brazil nut brown, back in the day.....

also some maker did, i don't remember who, make a really nice model of a mark 1 MG Metro, but i think it was a large scale, and it also had a large price, sadly.
