I repainted and re glazed one of those Commers years ago to look like a Bomalack bodied BF in Mr Whippy livery.

Yes, I remember seeing that on here....Flippin' ace job, too.

Ta muchly. If my printer was working I would probably do a few more. Just been having a sort out as got a small boocase from Argos, she nicked a shelf for her Onion pots, but the other 2 shelves have my models on, and her Hot Wheels, yes she likes the odd bit of diecast too. Now skint though, ad she didnt tell me the phone bill bounced. Grr!

The latest from the dinky toys collection magazine.

Must admit to liking these very much.

Ok so they are not originals, bit it's nice to walk out of a newsagent with a new dinky

Same here, I bought that DS last week. It is nice to buy a new old style Dinky when shopping, kind of reminds me of ye olden days when I would try to get my mum to buy me another car.

I have the Atlas Renault 12 and Peugeot 204. I had wanted both of these badly since seeing them in my Toy Cars book in 1990 but being French issues, were way out my price range and still are. So it was great when they were reissued at a fraction of the cost.

And my half track now has new tracks and a front sticker...

I like its simplicity really. Although in pure model terms the 'b' version was an improvement.

Think I've offered this before, but anyone want this for £4 posted? Slight damage to case as pictured. Based on real Shep's vehicle.

What I was up to last night, unusually, the Atlas editions mk3 Cortina police car has the 'tombstone' GT seats, so far not seen on any Vanguards release, so I thought bugger it, interior swap to my custom GT, I noticed a foglight was missing from it too, so an Altaya Renner 12 that has become a parts donor sacrificed it's lights, the code 3 looks tons better with the sporty seats, and the plod has the more suitable lowbacks.

Some Corgi-shite examples of Great British Transportation have arrived today.    Fortunately, Mrs R. is away so not only can I declare these at a convenient time (when she has bought something frivolous) but I can eat my Lidl Curry for One for tea whilst I gaze lovingly at my haul like a kid reading a Frosties packet.

The Concorde is missing a couple of wheels and its display stand but I have just scored one of the latter for 99p!

I have sussed how to get Minichamps mk2 Capris to pieces, so a right hand drive conversion could well be on the cards if I can find a Vanguards Capri cheaply

I've just taken a childhood Dinky Fiat Ritmo apart that's had a bent axle for 30 years probably, I think the axles are a mere 1.5mm in width, but might as well replace.

Should I just order a bit of 1.5mm steel from ebay, cut it down and hammer the ends a bit? What do you experts say?

Why don't you just straighten the existing axle?

Posted

Indeed, but why take the sensible easy option! I have straightened it somewhat since I posted.

Anyway, This 80's relic can be on your shelf gathering dust instead of in a box at my house gathering dust for £4 posted.

Edit: this was probably my brother's. He had the sporty stuff, and I had the Ritmos and the 2cvs etc. And childhood habits die hard, he has modern cars on PCP (VAG shite etc) and I drive older cars. Plus ca change.

A pair of pliers and a minute or two of tweaking should have that axle straight again.

Out with the fine wire wool, and a little bit of G3 polish to finish. The remaining paint looks like authentic(!) rust, so I have re-assembled for now, there's now a little bit of movement in the base annoyingly! Anyway, will do for now.
