Shite in Miniature II

House is upside down at the moment being renovated. Plus point is that my wife and I are building a hobby room so after that's finished in a few weeks it's chocks away!

I have 1:24/25 scale projects which have been ‘waiting patiently’ for 20-25 years now, and have gone through four house moves. They’re still in progress and they will be finished, one day….

I have a shoebox full of Spot On projects under the bed.  Bought all the parts which are still in their little plastic bags.   One of them is a Landcrab I was going to do to match mine.

I sold that 1800 in 2002....

On the plus side lots of the small parts are now even more expensive/impossible to obtain.

Force Ale lists (due to popular* demand) are now available.

However, the forum doesn't allow me to attach excel sheets.

So whoever is interested, must PM me his email addy.

I have one list for plastic kits and one for 1:18 scale diecasts.

Ukrainian Lada haul, complete with magazines in Russian. Lada 1300, Lada 1200 Kombi and Lada 1600. The photos in the mag for the Kombi are of a British 1500 estate, which must have been shipped back to Russia and restored. I've tracked down the missing DeAgostini Lada casting as well, and that is winging it's way to me too, so that will be the whole set now :)

I made Excel spreadsheets and they can't be attached.

Should hopefully work now

Felly, you now have everything you need in order to learn fluent Russian, or fluent enough at least that you can talk to the oretty Ukranian girls about Ladas.

I just need to learn to speak backwards. It's a shame we haven't had any decent diecast partworks for years, everywhere else in Europe have had plenty.

I think you'll find we have ;)

If you mean in the shops as proper magazine series though then yes. But then there just isn't sufficient demand for that sort of full priced stuff here sadly. Of the partwork stuff coming over the next few months, there's some interesting stuff in the pipeline. Going to be more expensive inevitably which probably means some won't ever make it to these shores in any volume.

Yet another batch of ex Soviet stuff?

Posted

No, no more Soviet stuff. Realistically the quality just isn't good enough.

Some nice Euro stuff on the horizon subject to how much it ends up as.

I imagine it would be a logistical non-starter, but has there ever been a 1:18 partwork series, aside from bikes?

Posted

Never seen any 1/18 partworks, a few 1/24 ones (all using generally the same castings just in different colours) but the only big partwork scales have been the 1/12 kits where you get a different bit each week and eventually build the full model. R8 Gordini and Citroen DS come to mind. As you say the logistics would be difficult and the pricing probably prohibitive.

JM - Nope, sadly it does not. There's very little comes in that direction at all. I *might* look at what we could import directly next year depending on how things shake out. Same applies to Japan - there's loads of really interesting stuff available at the Japanese wholesale contact we have that never, ever gets to Europe. Maybe in the future...

I've been after the 1/24 Innocenti Mini for ages that came out from a partwork series. I already have an Alfa Romeo Spider. The quality is very good.

Posted

Sadly not.

Give me an example filename as it could be diferent.

They menwhile amount to about 100 different models, not one of which we hitherto had in this scale. Hardly "a few", not even from my point of view.

Sorry, when I said a few I meant there's been a few different 1/24 partwork series. I think we're up to 3 plus some of the castings were also issued under the Whitebox brand.

This one?

https://www.lobsterdiecast.co.uk/shop/1972-innocenti-mini-cooper-mk3-1300-in-green-124-scale-model/ Autoshite discount is available etc etc etc. It was released in red with a black roof as part of the Quattroruote series in Italy about seven years back, this one is newer and still available.

True, I think there were three partwork series, Quattroruote, Alfa Romeo Centennario and then some of them were reissued by Hachette in France as Auto Vintage.

Then there were the non partwork reissues of some of them by White Box and now SpecialC (sic).

Hachette has now commissioned a purely French partwork series, also under the Auto Vintage banner and of the 14 models announced so far, strangely only 7 have

never been seen before, the other 7 do already exist in either plastic kit form, or as mass produced diecasts. One can only hope this series gets further expanded.
