Dunno if it's any help, but I bodged the broken pipe at the tailgate hinge on my former Ka, with two drinking straws and some duck tape.

A little one down the inside, and a big McD's one on the outside, then wrapped up to disguise the horror. The flexible bits of the straws were lined up, so it still flexed. It was still there and working fine when the little shitbox went over the bridge!

That happened on our a4 right of the tailgate and was a proper pain to get at.You can get joints from a good accessory shop in little packs......wotnots brand by Pearl Automotive.

Yes, of course halfords had a selection of one. It was just a smidge to big. Tbf I think if it was proper hose with some flex the joint I got would have been perfect but the rigid stuff in the Audi wasn't going to play ball!

I know I could have sorted it properly but I couldn't find any accessible joints even with the tail panel half off and some of the headlining bent back, and like Pillock I just know the clips and fittings will break so I can't face getting involved.

Considering the current Vauxhall Porn thread I thought I'd photo spam here to bring us all back down to earth with a thump. Also hopefully redeeming myself after all this talk of Audi.

As the car turned 32 a couple of weeks ago and is due an MOT next week I thought I'd wash it and took some arty* pictures for your pleasure* (Also if we ever sell it I can use these pics on ebay to make it look like I care).

I was* going to include one of those sexy* bikini soap-suds action shots but a.) It was too cold for a bikini. b.) I don't own a bikini and c.) I believe more and more people are facing criminal proceedings for publishing offensive content on the web these days. Is incitement to vomit a crime? Not sure but don't want to risk it.

:)

One of Matts PCSOs saw this one day and thought we'd been the victims of some cruel joke.

Well. Unloved Astra in first time MOT pass shocker.

Couple of advisories about wheel bearings and brake pipes or something.

Unexpected.

Good news. It's clearly trying to win your affections, with an easy MOT.

This deserves a picture! The new sport of wiper wrestling.

Hi everyone.

To put it simply, the car won't move. As far as I can tell the handbrake is stuck on, and I have no idea what I'm to do with it.

What do you recommend?

Symptoms:

Start car, engage reverse gear, release handbrake, back end of car climbs, car stalls.

Forward and back a few times. Listen for almighty patented vauxhall back brakes BANG!

That'll be the brake lining becoming detatched from the shoe...unless they're proper riveted on ones !

Vaux rear drums are notorious for sticking ! As Christine says, usually a good bash with a hammer frees them up. If a lining has detached, you'll need a new set of shoes (which are very cheap). They're 'usually' just stuck though, particularly if a little damp has got in or the dust has built up inside :)

It's done! Tried just going backwards and forwards a couple of times but had to bring out the 'ommer.

Think it's time to cut out losses on this one. It's crawling with mould. And starting to bubble on the corners.

The enthusiasm isn't there.

Back wheels off, handbrake released, batter the drums with a hammer. Easy!

When I worked for a Ford dealer this would happen to Focuses on the forecourt constantly. Digging the wheel brace from the boot and twatting the rear drum a few times normally did the trick.

I don't think it would be fair on you guys!

Oh come on. It must be better than a certain Volvo was! Mustn't it?
