2CV Road Run

There was so much sunshine in Wales yesterday that I feel the need to share a few pics.

Starting with an XUD-powered Traction Avant, which uses a Skoda Estelle 5-speed gearbox. This is the second one of these I've seen.

2CVs arrive from The Midlands.

Ready to leave.

Back at Lake Bala before tackling the Hellfire Pass. Only a few of us did this one.

Was the yellow & black one the winner of the 'How many lights can you get on a 2CV competition?'

What's behind that then?

Or does the bloke just have a bit of a sense of humour?

Looks beautiful. Any more details anywhere about this diesel traction with the skoda gearbox? That sounds mega.

You have some beautiful scenery in Wales, it's the perfect place for a afternoon run in a classic car, That black and yellow one is amazing, He must have an alternator the size of a house under the bonnet.

Yeah, Andy who built the 'many lights' 2CV is something of a frustrated lighting engineer. He has actually started doing the lighting at amateur theatre groups, but the 2CV still keeps him happy. It also has a train horn, complete with compressor to power it and it's remote control. So be wary if having a closer look...

I don't have any more details on the diesel Traction. I believe that both the ones I've seen were built by the same bloke. The engine is the 'wrong' way around, with the cambelt end nearest the bulkhead.

We'll have to have an 'Autoshite does Wales' trip at some point. Happy to help decide a route!

I'd love to do that!, Shame Wales is so far but i guess a B&B for the night isn't that expensive.

It is a chuffing long way for you Trig! Good job you've got a new mile-muncher. It's about 200 miles between our old house in Cambs and here in Wales. We did do a weekend house-hunting where we drove over here, checked out some properties, stopped the night and then headed back the next day after checking a few more properties. Tiring but do-able. That was in the previous BX.

That looks a cracking day out, all part of the fun of owning an old motor isn't it. Good to see people getting out and using their shite!
