Thanks for the appreciation gents.

In keeping with the autoshite commandments/principles it was autoshite bunce.

Thanks to my mate Ivan who happened to find it in a workshop in London.

Got it running sweet as a nut now, sounds amazing even the twin sidedraught Solexes through the standard airbox.

Have today fixed/removed rethreaded the sheared carb stay bolt and Sikaflexed back together the split rubber carb mount.

Needs some weldage to the floor but nothing serious. Gearbox is going to take some getting used to with the dog leg first!

Thanks to M'coli for pic postage services rendered Sir!

Really? I always thought it was a universal thing. You're probably right though.

I have to disagree though and say the original design looks much better!

Both versions look ace. The 'raised brows' Fulvia was new to me though.

Michelotti did a real good job for Lancia as he did for BMW with the 02 series which resemble the Fulvia Coupé. I'd really prefer the Fulvia to the 02 anyway.

Controversial! It's pretty contentious whether old Giovanni had any input in the BMW '02 designs... I for one don't subscribe to that theory. As for the Fulvia... I wasn't aware it was a Michelotti at all! I thought the whole Fulvia range was styled in house?

I prefer this type with the slightly raised outers. I've had a wantage for one of these for the last 20 years, so I am a tad jealous that a60rod has had such an opportunity - especially as it's virtually perfect spec - not bad nick, but a little welding needs doing to sort it out. I'll have to keep an eye out.

You're right! The Fulvia Coupé is Pietro Castagnero's design. Sorry. But yes, the 02 series as well as the Neue Klasse is Michelotti influenced.

Indeed. The 02 was an ugly grunter of a thing anyway.

With much regret and fact IF I have a job in the New Year I'll be travelling 4 hours a day I'm going to have to sell the Fulvia.

Done some research and it is a genuine 1.3S ie sport, bootlid and bonnet are alloy.

Problem is have 6 bikes and a hot rod too...

See start of thread for bit about well known owner and E type escapades

Last owner owned 12 years, very well heeled so no expense spared. He had a bank account at a private bank I'd never heard of.

Has had total gearbox rebuild

Timing chain and God knows what else

Has 5 recent Continental tyres and new battery which I've got under my bed as cold kills them!

There's last 19 MOTs and service history going back 20 years odd and the details/ads from last four owners

Last owner said spent £12k on it and have a huge stack of receipts

Failed test on corrosion to floor - really nothing hanging as only failed couple of months ago.

Been kept inside ever since.

Everything works all fine and dandy.

Currently SORN

As the one sat in a barn and posted in this thread was circa £1500 I'm asking £1500 which is silly cheap but better to offer on here first and hope for less aggro sellage.

Car is in Tonbridge Kent TN10

PM me if interested and we'll go from there

As I've had quite a lot of interest in this may I state it will be sold to the first person who turns up with the money as it's costing me storage!

Thanks for your understanding :D

PM'd. Kent based, wife's permission and very bored at Christmas time.

Are you wanting to buy the car or are you a swinger?

Haha, no pampas grass here.

Lancia Fulvia vs Chalet Girl/Bridesmaids/27 Dresses/Maid in Manhattan.

Lancia wins.

Although a separate TV is probably looking to be a good investment too.

Oh FFS how did I miss this yesterday? Would imagine it's long since been snapped up by now?

Worth asking, plus bank transfers are quicker than the bus if you know what I mean. Wish I had a bit of spare cash, love these things, knew where there were some nice Cromodoras a while back too.

Sorry about that old chap, thought I'd replied to all with my number.

Think someone's ;-) sending me a deposit in a mo.

Narrow escape! I thought private messages were just that - private. It appears not to be so!

Posted

I had eight messages.

I thought I had sent my phone number in every one.

I have apologised to you.

I was an error on my behalf and I have apologised so stopping being a dick, posting sulky comments on here about it and sending me messages saying you're not very happy about it.

PS I have posted this in RESPONSE to you quite what you were trying to achieve I don't know.

Again, I have apologised, what exactly more do you want?

Er.... without any form of gloating M'Coli. Bought. Very excited. Woot!

I would suggest to any speculators out there to maybe invest in British Steel now I have a Lancia  I may be buying a lot of it. There may be a couple of small holes but we know how this can progress. Hopefully not though, it does look like a frigging belter.

Like this picture "OMG Fulvia!"

I'm looking forward to seeing the progress with this one.

I dont recall ever seeing one of these in the flesh, but they are one of my favourite Italian cars of the period. Styled in house too, not by one of the big studios of the time.

I'm please for Hillman because he seems a decent bolke but the deal's been soured by someone else bleating, "feeling shat upon" and God knows what else!

FFS mate grow up I have apologised, change your username to Kevin " that is sooo unfair" Patterson cos you're behaving like him!

Look just for you "I'm VERY sorry I forgot to add my phone number" now stop sending me bleating PMs I can do nothing more!:evil:

While I can understand your frustration a60rod, I can also well understand the frustration of one who has cash, wants to buy car but due to circumstances has the car snatched away by another. I'm sure we've all been there and it is insanely frustrating, as there's nothing you can do. A night's kip and all this will be forgotten.

Enjoy the motor HillmanImp! Look forward to progress.

Ah but no, I fully understand your points, as been there myself but did I make a muppet of myself?

The car was sold to the first person who contacted me, the other person wanted pics of the underneath and had to clear it with her indoors, two hurdles already.

I just wonder how old this individual is, no, seriously.

I earn £1200 p/a less than my mate doing the same job as he got his job two weeks before me but I didn't say I felt shat on and aggrieved and Lord knows what else.

Why be eaten up with grievance? it's a car not a kidney for a dying child!! Perspective please!!

But as you say Mr D. Ollywobbler to bed with you all*!

* err not literally you understand.

The Lancia is currently being welded up by M.Imp, I've a half share in it, so will be cracking on with the mechanical work when I get some time off. So far we've stripped out the interior, and then investigated the rust underneath, sadly it's been bodged up before, so once ground back resembled a fair impression of a collander. Floors, inner sills, centre crossmember & sill closing panels, both sides, pretty much the full length of the floorpan. One side is pretty much there, the other side on it's way. One of the trickiest spots is going to be the front subframe, as it's rotted the NSF section, which mounts then to the front crossmember of the shell. Basically the subframe is going to have to come out - or at least drop down to get access, which means the engine, box and front suspension need to drop down too. Doesn't look too bad a job once the steering colomn is disconnected, my only fear is disturbing the other mountings in case we find more horrors lurking.

The interior is going to get retrimmed, I'm lucky enough to have a Niece who's a seamstress, and also into cars, so considering a mix of Leather and Alcantara for the seats. Just trying to source some new carpets also.

The rest of the body is in pretty good shape, and it certainly looks presentable. It has indeed got a pretty comprehensive history, and has had ££££'s spent on it in the past, at least one engine rebuild amongst other things.

I know M. Imp is sick of welding the bloody thing, given he's doing it outside - His GT6 is still in his garage, I'm sure he'll post up some photos of the horror that lurked under the underseal.

Whoever had welded it up in the past had just boshed tidy looking plates over the gore that was originally the floor, it was never rust proofed so although looking good externally tin worm as been happily chomping its way through it unseen. more worryingly they hadn't bothered to reattach the central crossmember to the plates, just covered over the mess and glued the carpets down. It's all being linked back together now, so at least it's going to be back up to it's original, if not better, strength.
