Kerb weight of trailer: 685kg.

Total: 1955kg (minimum).

 

Towing capacity of a '94 Granada (latest info available on t'interweb): 1850kg

Great stuff! Love that trailer catalogue. I’d love to show the VOSA crew my photocopied letter from the ministry of transport showing that my ‘high speed’ trailer was safe and legal to tow at 70 with a rusty old Granada or whatever on it.

Those 6 wheeler two car trailers aren't something you see nowadays (in the UK at least - I noticed the european Ascona/Citroen combo in another thread)

 

Are they still legal then??? Or where they just impractical???

Love those KC Daylighters ads too. I remember that at one stage they had 100w bulbs in them (IIRC?) which became unlawful to use. There was a headline in Custom Car or somesuch which I thought was brilliant, "K C and the Sunshine Banned".

years ago I saw a Transit on a trailer being towed by a Fiesta

It was at Takeley in Essex as I was coming out the while-you-wait MOT place that was there.

I actually have a Weaver car transporter trailer, but I didn't know till I read this!

It's the tilting bed job at the top, except the tilting bed wasn't the greatest in operation & the box section of the drawbar parts was getting fairly rotten so I've turned it into a solid drawbar job & I'm re-flooring it with 2mm steel, also moved the front sxle forward a few inches to get the weight distribution better. Not really gonna be much like the original!
