M Reg Cavalier LS, no T&T, £150 now with more pics

Right, I'm not too happy about this, mainly because I wanted to get it MOT'd and draw halfway decent coin for it, but I've been informed today that the 480 has to be moved, so this has to go ASAP to make Volvo-space at home.

Metallic green 1.8LSi, electric windows, keep fit sunroof, central deadlocking, 5 gears, 3 wheeltrims and a towbar (GR12 4 A_FRAMIN_TAT)

It's done about 103000 miles* and drives bloody well. Sill ends and rear arches are good. It's got a few trolley dings, and a small scrape on the O/S/R quarter. It's just a typical M reg Cav.

I was given this by my sister to run around in whilst I had the 145 MOT'd. It saw me right, and did it well. Now I just want to get it gone so I can give her some money back for it.

So, £150 isn't much more than scrap. I really would have liked £200 for it as is, but with needing it gone quickly, needs must.

Located in Bolton, 5 mins from M61. Viewings welcome, tea and biscuits will be provided to shiters, abuse and profanities will be provided to timewasters!

*At a guess, I'll check tomorrow.

More pics sometime tomorrow.

It would be nice to see it live on, but you have to be realistic. I need the room, and I want to give sister Sporty some cash, God knows she could do with it at the minute.

Cutting the cat off and sending it over the 'bridge would be more profitable and preferable. The car will make 200 quid on the scales and 40-50 quid for the Cat.

love to know what yards your using as scrap cars are nowhere near £200 a tonne at the minute

cat prices are a bit of a mystery in the scrap business . unless your dealing with some 1 that opens them up for the rare metals inside your not going to get full whack for them .

aftermarket low grade cats arnt worth the bother of removing them for the money they fetch , if the yard even takes them.

If its a genuine vauxhall cat you may get 40-50 quid . this i doubt tho .

you can tell if there genuine as it will have gm then a number pressed into it on the seams where the two halfs of the cat are joined .

at 150 quid it would be collected and readys in hand same day with out the hassle .

some places are exporting cavaliers these days so that could be worth looking into also

Someone PLEASE buy this and put it back on the road

Funny. A mate weighed in a bare 3 Series shell for £80 last week, and a genuine Ford catalyst for £50.

Plus not everyone wants a Hiab with a couple of rigger booted inbreds at their home or place of business. :D

Pretty sure these are non-interference engines and they're defo bullet proof. Better economy than the two litre and not too much slower, a bit dismal inside but will probably never let anyone down.

IF (big if at the mo) a storage spot can be found I'll be all over this, you just can't go worng for that sort of money.

what about my old mans 58 plate transit recovery With him dressed smartly because he picks up main dealer cars to deliver and collect from customers .

good luck on the cat but its not worth 50 even if its genuine gm this id bet money on

As above ive got an identical cavalier an these cars are fantasic! My cav is on 190,000 now an just keeps going. I've put 45,000 in just over 3 an half years an its been a great around car from weekends away to visting mates an trips to the tip an taxi for mates after a night out an one of the few things i can depend on.

This deserves better than the weigh bridge or the banger track as too many cavaliers an other older cars end up going that way.

If i weren't out of work an skint i'd have it myself even though i don't need it. Hope it finds a good home. :)

More pictures as promised. Sill ends and back arches are spot on, and after a quick look underneath, I can't see anywhere it might need welding. Shown pics of the couple of scuffs, and also of the lack of lacquer on the bonnet (matt scene yo!) You know, I'm considering MOT'ing this, I really think it'll pass without too much trouble.

I scrapped the Primera a few days ago - bit of a harsh fate given it was immaculate with a shade over 70k on the clock and FSH but what realistically would I have got for it? £350 maybe 400... The scrappy came and took it away and gave me £170 ( would have been 200 if i'd driven it in)

Still had 6 months MOT as well - but it needed a front downpipe for which plod had stopped me and given me a V REC - meaning I had to fork out to get it fixed or scrap it plus the brakes were losing fluid at a rate of knots - didn't investigate, but I figured i was looking at over £100 in repairs at least before I could flog it, then having to put up with endless morons to make an extra £50

A damn shame for such a tidy motor - but, problem solved.

Tell Mrs Cav that Christmas is overrated, and in these hard times, austerity is the order of the day. Then spend your Christmas money on lovely Cav-ness.

Oh, whilst I think on, did you say you fancied an Alfa? 147, perhaps? 12 months MOT?:twisted::twisted:

Is this still available? Looks like a nice option to add to the fleet...

Still here, although Cavette wants it he has yet to fall prey to my poor attempts to sabotage his marriage and spoil his family's Christmas!.
