I was going to say a Volvo 240 based on the shots when he looks out of the window and you see the "shoulder" of the car in the mirror.... but the edge of the dash looks very Montego!

Lovely shite in there though, can't believe how old some of the cars are - but I guess in 1991, a 1975 car was only 16 years old. No different to a M-plate car now. And then you see stuff like facelifted Montegos which must have been almost new.

Aye. It's definitely a Montego, and the wipers havent' parked properly! They shouldn't be visible.

The most shite thing about that is surely the thing that looks like an old AM radio on the dash top. I reckon that's one of those 'fake' covers that you put over your fancy auto-reverse cassette deck to deter thieves!

Deffo a Monty, and I remember those fake radio fronts....

I bet that week's "Cars for Sale" classifieds in the local rag would be something to drool over now! (dribbling slightly even just thinking about it).

Citroen BX Leader followed by a youth walking infront of Montego-man wearing a pink shellsuit."Y'all ready for this" indeed.

The white Fiesta 'festival' at the junction behind the Chevette near the end could well be my Aunties old car. Still on the road until a couple of years ago.

I wonder if any of those cars are still about to this day?

What a strange film.....but pleasant nonetheless.

The two people crossing the road in shell-suits made me smirk....plus lots of eighties tat still looking half decent...Polonez, two-tone Chevette, Solara et al.

The music is from the era....... 'Joyride' by Roxette, 'Get ready For This' by 2-Unlimited and 'Sit Down' by James. The Top Ten at the end is a bit weird though, with several obscure Abba album tracks , 'Music Of the Night' from Phantom of The Opera, New Seekers, and Monkees.

The final track he plays, sung in French, had me stymied for ages...but I know it now. I'm so confident even the most accomplished music buff won't be able to name singer and title that I'll wager.... £20!!

Un Baiser Vole - Sara Bray

I cheated and used Shazam on my phone

Unbelievably entertaining! Only a true shiter could watch that all the way through- spotter's delight: Mk1 Sierra outnumbered by a lot of Cortinas, in fact quite a lot of pretty old stuff but many contemporary cars were small like Fiestas and Belmonts/ Astras - hardly any of the next generation stuff like Mk3 Cavaliers. I'm sure I spotter a Citroen ZX near the beginning which must have been brand spanking new. Just after the 'BX leader' but just before turning into that market, there's one of those old, large Mazdas in silver - quite a modern looking thing for the time and possibly also brand spanking new. Anyone else think the contrast between the new cars then and the old ones like the Cortinas etc was much greater than it is today? I'm thinking how a new XM (out 2 years at the time) or soon to be released Omega looked in comparison.
