Gaydon truck show pics

I trucked it up today at Gaydon - never been before but what a great event. If you like Volvos and Scanias this is definitely the place to go and I'm convinced every Scania Streamline in existence was there. Here's a few highlights.

That Ford Transcontinental brings back memories! I took my H.G.V. class 1 on one of them in the summer of 1983! As I drove it back from the test centre in Brimsdown near Enfield to Park Royal where I worked the radio was playing Paul Young's "Come Back and Stay With Me This Time;" to this day I can't hear that song without remembering my H.G.V. test!

That F88 tractor, I used to see it running around regularly. I remember nearly crashing my van the first time I ever saw it! It is a lovely old beast! I wonder how many miles it's done?

 

I like the old Cargo's too, they used to be everywhere then seemed to just disappear. There's a D reg, blue box truck still working near here though.

There's an old showmans yard near me too. It's filled with old classic trucks rotting away. I really need to take a camera with me when I'm out and about at work!
