Nice BMW's there Mr P. I must admit my current fave in my collection has to be the rare Mk1 Onion, which I've pimped slightly with a set of Vanguards XR3 cloverleaf wheels.

Thank you Felly Magic. The detail is pretty amazing on them, but my photography “skills†don’t quite do them justice. I like the new additions the Orion-much better than the hubcaps I must say. They suit it really well.

Mr Lobster sold out in a matter of hours of getting those Onions in stock. I'd been after one for ages, but wasn't prepared to pay ebay's prices when they did turn up. They were going for the silly side of £30, and didn't come with the partwork mag like mine did. Shame the mag is in Spanish, but who cares eh?

 

BTW, the original wheels from the Onion now sit on a Vanguards Haynes edition XR3

I nearly had kittens when we got them, they weren't even supposed to be here and should have been some 1970s partwork things but instead a man in France sent the wrong boxes. The importer here had only just got them and didn't really know what to do with them when I saw them.

 

There were only a tiny number of Orions sadly. More of the Polos, Passats, AXs and we ended up buying the lot. There were also Granadas and Senators with that delivery but they sold out really quickly as well.
