tracking your old car?

a mate of mine is convinced he saw his old Nova SR driving around the local area yesterday for the first time in a few years and was pretty suprised as he thought it was dead!

He checked the DVLA website and it is still on the road!.

He now wants to track the owner down and see if he can buy it back.

The price of these things is sky high now and I dont think he realises this but I said id put the feelers out anyway.

Is there any way he can get the 'new' keepers address so he can go and see if he will sell it? If not he will probably be driving around the Wrexham and Chester area every evening until he finds it - which could take a while!.

Probably not legitimately.

He could apply to the DVLA saying that the car had been parked illegally on his land and he wants to chase up a fine - it costs all of £5 o get the info off the DVLA.

or

He could ask a bent copper.

Neither of which are legal.

Just send a fiver to the DVLA saying the owner cut you up on a roundabout and you want to go round to his house and hack him to death with a machete. The DVLA will issue private details to anybody with £5 nowadays.

they do seem keen to keep every rogue clamper/private parking company up to date with your details dont they!

Unlikely but may be of some help!

Peter.

I gave them these links and nothing came up apparantly

I suppose he will just have to try and keep a look out!

Maybe we could start an Autoshite version :D ? We could have a database and whenever we spot an old car over twenty years old say. we would input the details of where it was seen etc. I am sure there are members covering most of the country!!
