There's still a (very few) cars around with the old-style plates. So:Shonky Dacia 1304 pick-up, 1992 New but shit Super-rare and mouldy early Dacia 1310 estate - only one I've seen in Romania although the later type, with the thicker rims round the headlamps, is very normal. Government cars old and new Battered Dacia Metro - Brit tat is very thin on the ground in Romania Jap crap, love the leaf litter Dacia 1309, made from an estate and crafty use of a saw - amazingly this is factory-made. Forgotten what this is, but it's Jap - Mazda? Come to holiday on beautiful Black Sea Coast Awful Alfa Dacia - shite. Add to that general condition - very shite. Add to that that it's a mega-rare factory prototype - king of shite surely? (NB if this were in Britain, it'd be on a M reg....)This is so truly bad it deserved many, many photos, which is what I took... Is it just me or does that Tagora look really straight and level and dare I say it not too rusty? I'm sure a valet would work wonders. Let me at it!

Also, it's the same car as the one I posted on the first page... I did see another one, white, in mint condition, last year, but as I photoed it several security guards rushed out and made me delete the picture - apparently it was outside an embassy and I looked like the typical British spy. Next time I went there it had gone...Don't worry, there's a fair few more to come! In the 70s the Romanian Tourism Office imprted lots of their licence-built Merc coaches and minibuses, none of this type though. Yet more shots of the GAX 69 which still tools around Nice Mazda Granny estate was a stunner Newish Volga on Kishinev plates, as a fellow owenr I was exceptionally pleased to see this (while preferring my far earlier one) A very nice and very tired Mosky still going strong. This demanded lots of photos: Decent Audi 80. Until recently Romania was full of these and even now there's some used as taxis: Finally, a pleasing duet of absolute shite:

More cack: Dacia - but with headlamps of something different - an Oltcit (Later they made their own version which was a lot squarer, there's one a few pics down). This was quite fashionable in the late 80s with Communist Oartty members trying to prove they had a "different" Dacia from everybody else... Pick-up, circa 1993, with retro-fitted headlamps from the 70s. Why whould you do this? Dacia Sport with a bigger boot welded on. Again, silly, frankly. Land Rover-Fiat bastard son? King Cab, Romanian style. They were making these till 2000.... Buses, Romanian style... Nice trio of shit This Merc, however, was fabulous - good private plate, too ALFA!!!!!!! Almost my spot of the day TV ambulance, c. 1980 Incredibly well-kept Trabant, old giffer lokes to drive round evry day in this Wartburg Tourist Excellent Honda, a real beaut in this condition - nice quad lights too And my spot of the day. 1964ish Opel Rekord Olympia. There is so much so right on this, from the faded 2-tone paint, to the missing hubcaps, to the building behind it, to the wonky numberplate, to the unoriginal rear lights (off later Rekord).... I lked this a lot.
