Whats this then? Peugeot 402?

A 203 I believe, as seen on the wings & wheels thread - see I did learn something!
this is a 203, so its defo not one of those!

Posted Image

Posted

Google says I'm talking out of my backside - my apologies it seems you were right all along! Apparently Peugeot had a whole range of these hideous things! Your one is bigger than that 202 so probably is a 402 like this one after all!

Posted Image

Posted

Cheers reg! Heres another load.

This one is smaller so it must be a 202!

This kadett was class in a glass. The engine was super quiet, as smooth as a modern lump.

Posted Image

What a way to travel, this looked impossibly cool in the french sunshine.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Bloody hell look at that!

HENRI CHAPRON

Posted Image

Lovely!

Posted Image

Nice 104 'shortcut'

Posted Image

This thing called itself a 'beauté', blacked out sills and colour coded wheels suggested otherwise to me.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Any guesses for this one? Its super obscure.

Rosengart Supertrahuit. The Peugeot '02 family is absolutely gorgeous. Great spots!

The Peugeot '02 family is absolutely gorgeous.

That's one way of looking at it :|

Heres a few more:

Thelma + Louise in their E-type. Annoyingly for them, it would not start when they tried to set off. I expected them to be set upon by a thousand slightly beery frenchmen offering help and advice, in the end this red-faced be-suited geezer won the lottery and set them on pushing. Good work!

Posted Image

Allez! Put your back into it girls! I'll deal with all these levers and what have you.

My camera started playing up at this point taking ages to 'save' a pic. This means that loads of pics were ruined by folk wandering into the shot:

Posted Image

THANKS

Posted Image

YEAH THATS GREAT LOVE, CHEERS

Posted Image

OH BRILLIANT, NICE ONE

Posted Image

Oh give me strength. FFS LOVE DO YOU WANNA JUST SHIFT YOUR - Oh hang on its Mrs_B this time. Carry on!

Posted Image

WHAT! That would have been a great shot.

Posted Image

NOT YOU AGAIN! :roll::roll:

Posted Image

These musicians looked 'clinically bored'.

Posted Image

The excitement was all too much for this guy.

Posted Image

Excellent hat!

Posted Image

Some class outfits were on display. Check this guy on his 'motor bike' 5thelma + Louise on the right too)

Posted Image

Always a good idea to have a religious presence at these car do's.

LOL that illustrates perfectly what was mentioned on the wings & wheels thread (again).....

Some nice photos there SL, while it's nice to be shown the story behind the exhibit it does annoy me when the vehicle's half obscured by boards containing plaques from every show it's been to in the last 5 years. More so when surrounded by bodies reading!

Christ that is without doubt the most frustrating thing about car shows, doesn't matter which but you spend 3 times the time it should take photographing cars waiting for zombies to get out of the damn way in their own sweet time. Even worse when you've been waiting for ages, finally get a clear shot & then some other body wanders into view meaning you either have to halt your finger on the shutter button again, or delete the promising picture you just took because it has an arm or a torso right across it!
Posted

All your pix are ACE Mr. B, but I really did guffaw out loud when those people wandered into shot (not because they did, but 'cos of your captions)! :D P.S. Do you like all Karmann Ghias, or is it just silver convertible ones?

Posted

WITH THIS ROCHER YOU ARE SPOILING US. Tremendous shots, wonderful stuff. And there was me thinking the French had traded in their elderly motors wholesale for new tin based on my trip to Paris, an issue of "GAZOLINE" notwithstanding.Pacer is the standout for me. The French always did seem to go in for whacky Yank tin, judging by the amount of obscure 70s/80s USA motors that get trashed in 80s/90s French films (and films set in France - Never Say Never Again for example).

Posted

Will you adopt me Mr B? Great pics, even better words.Oh and the 4CV Barquette thingy, any more pics of that one? Merci en avance!

Posted Image

Not sure what this is, I think its a half-simca half-ford vehicle from when Simca was formed and took over Ford's manufacturing operations in France. It has a V8 engine I think.

That'll be a Ford Vedette then.

Brilliant pictures, I am off to France this weekend however I cannot even begin to hope to see anything like this amount of quality F tin.

These two geezers were milling around in their popemobile, blessing folk, the guy in the back often had a bottle of beer in his hand. 8)

'old car totty' was thinner on the grond than the LM classic, but not totally absent:

More good outfits:

Posted Image

Posted Image

Now some french humour. Heres how it works:

1) put on a jeremy Beadle beard, and dress up as a copper.

2) Sternly invite your mates to step into your 'police booth' for questioning about a recent crime incident.

3) Rush round the back and snap the priceless look on their faces as they peep out through the two round 'windows':

Posted Image

OMG LOL!!!!111!!!!11!112²²11!!!

Now simply photograph them in this compormising position and post it up on myspace sending a link to everyone you/they know including their pre-school kids LOLOL etc.

In fact, the trick is that this is so unfunny, you end up thinking 'WTF?? Who on earth is going to laugh at that? the guy is off his head  ', at which point you start to chuckle at the sheer ludicrousness of it, then you realise, its got you - you're now laughing (at it).

OK some more cars:

BURT REYNOLDS IN DA HOUSE

This Taunus V4 was driven by a couple of young lads who looked absurdly cool in it.

The driver of this had dressed himself up as a Gendarme and kept giving mouth-to-mouth to his mannequin passenger. WTF?

Posted Image

This guy was going for it in the 'roofrack full of crud' stakes - suitcase, an inflated inner tube, and a plastic Lobster. 8)

Posted Image

Not just any old roofrack either.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

This guy has fastened some gubbins onto his car which allowed it to run on cat piss or something. Check his get-up!

Heres the Taunus guys.

This thing had door frames made from 2" square section hardwood - not often you can say that about a car.

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f114/Mr_Bo11ox/Brittany%20CC%20do/P5110635.jpg

Just some old Delage or summert.

This 75 V6 had had its paint toasted by the sun, but was totally unrusty and unmessed with. Lovely!

Posted

Nice one! Lots of nice cars there. Where abouts in France did you come accross all these? Are you back home in England now?

Posted

Excellent stuff MrB. Cheered me up no end on this miserable day. :D I often have trouble determining whether you're taking photos of the cars or the people.....

Posted Image

Peter Carson was the project person on this vehicle he didnt make the racks to hold the bikes on but it is modeled on the tour de france races as a support vehicle and i see it as a promotional vehicle or something similer or even a beach buggy it has seat belt fittings etc

anyway..$500 no reserve..kinda cute..

Posted

I particularly like that red cylindrical thing, and its wooden screen surround.

Posted

Posted Image

Don't think I've ever seen a preserved bin wagon, makes a nice change from the usual flatbed with vintage car/tractor/assorted crap on the back. Probably smells vile though

Posted

These pictures are all wonderful. I can hear accordion music in my head just looking at them. Which probably isn't a good sign of my mental health when you think about it.

This could have been a star of the show for me. This 504 was absolutely arrow straight with a mint interior, it looked to me like it was totally original. Absolutely delightful.
