Murray is a hero, if I'm half as active at his age, I'll be happy. I remember watching the Grand Prix when Damon Hill won the world championship and you can almost hear him welling up.

A hero? Really? I'm not convinced. Sure, he's got a remarkable work ethic, and his commentary was both exciting and full of carefully researched facts, but I found his autobiography revealed someone I didn't actually like that much. Just that he's fairly blinkered - not like he was into drowning kittens or anything. Yes, he was good at his job - but is that really worth a knighthood?

Dollywobbler, just look at the list of celeb knighthoods since Murray retired. Can you find ONE who is even equally, never mind more, deserving in terms of entertainment value?

yep, legend for sure. More deserving of recognition than some of the other 'celebrities' that get them. Or even non celeb..here is one example of someone that got an OBE this year:

Murray Walker is a frickin' legend of the highest order. F1 went really crap after he left. Brundlefly, Coulthard Ellis-Bextor and Eddie the Leprechaun aren't terrible but compared to the old days of Murray and Hunt sniping at each other all the time it's crap.

 

Sir Murray Walker has a ring to it. If Stirling Moss can have one, and people are screaming for Brucie to get one, then Murray should definately have one.

 

Fuxake, if that chewy munching Jock from the Salford Buccaneers can have one, I think it's wrong that Murray doesn't.
