Northern Meet? - Allright, not a meet, just some shite fun

There are several events on at the British Commercial Vehicle Museum in Leyland and I wondered if anyone thought it might be a nice place to have a Northern Autoshite meet up.

 

June the 5th there is a Vintage Motorcycle show

June the 15th its full of Dubbers, so best avoided

June the 26th the Dubber crowd again

 

July the 9th & 10th - Leyland Transport Festival with lots of old motors and real ale.

July 10th - BL Cars & Trucks Extravaganza with Allegro action, the spinning cat and bench of death.

July 30th - Ribble Motors day (for fans of old buses)

July 31st More olf Buses, but not just Ribble ones.

 

August 14th - Great British Lorries Day

August 28th & 29th - Steam in Leyland.

 

OK, so perhaps not an official meet up then, but perhaps if anyone finds the above interestng and intend going they might want to say hello to each other? Perhaps not...

No, but then I only read threads that I think are going to be interesting, about DVD's and X-Boxes and shit like that - besides the 15th at Leyland will be full of Dubbers and frankly I wouldnt go near there for all the rice wine in China on that day (in fact I'll be about 48 miles away at the Lakeside and Haverthwaite railway).

 

It wss just a thought passing on some info about days out at the museum in Leyland, if you have never been you really should, Its good you know - they even have the popemobile there built for when John Paul came over to wave at the catholics.

I'd be up for seeing some old chod at Leyland! I would love to go to Cavette's breakfast meet, but the length of journey is putting me off - Doncaster sounds nice, but I suspect there won't be enough rust to keep me entertained.

I'm hoping to drag my Civic round there on a A-frame to display as a future project as it's a bit crispy in places, after the weld fest on my Fiesta today that would probably qualify for a rust award if there was one.

Put me down as a possible. Got a lot of chodding to do in the next couple of months, so finances are a bit squeezed but Leyland ain't far.

Piss taking aside maybe if a few people organised some local meetings in their area it'd be a bit of a laugh. Doesn't have to be a massive event or anything, just some like minded 'shiters meeting up to discuss the merits of quartic steering wheels and the difference between cable and rod change boxes on an Austin Maxi.

Well daverapid had talked about a AS meet in his field in September which i would have been up for but that's all gone very quiet about that, If we can camp then there no reason why some of you northern folk can't come down here for a weekend of shite car talking and beer.
