farewell 'big red'

A very good friend of mine has just had to take the tough decision to sell this lovely machine, he's owned it for about 8 years now and it's a genuine 56,000 miler. These pics were taken last weekend when he did his final drive in it from Plymouth to Reading for it's new owner to collect. Why did he sell? he's in the middle of restoring another 'A' plater that he's owned for a good few years, and it's being upgraded with a 3.9 motor out of a Range Rover, and it has a manual gearbox so it will be a bit of a beast once completed  He's just in negotiation to buy a 2000 auto just for it's apparently immaculate interior for the project, if he gets it I'll post up some pics.....

What a beautiful machine. I love the wood trim used in Vits and VDPs, looks like laminate flooring. Another car for my I love but will never own list.

Stunning SD1. I do hope the new owner takes care of him.

Tell him not to break an immaculate 2000!! I would love one of those.

The first SD1 I had was a 2000, I actually passed my test in it. Not as slow as you may think, very little between it and a 2300, the 2300 is smoother, the drivetrain on the 2000 had a bit of "chatter".
