£450 a month - - this does seem a bit steep to me -

:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:

Yes, me too. I wouldn't expect to pay that for the finest 1957 Lincoln Premiere, even if I lived in Central London with no garage!

Another vote here for Peter James. £450 a month sounds a bit teenager-in-wester hailes, though - typo?

I'm not at liberty to disclose the make of the vehicle but trust me on this.........it's cheap......in every respect

I can't wait to see the faces of my po faced neighbours - they thought the Sherpa lowered the tone....well the bourgeoise oppressors of the masses aint seen nothin yet!

Try Peter James insurance. They cover my Ami for £112, non limited mileage and I didn't even get asked about NCD.

Peter James. I didn't even bother ringing round when my renewal came through for the Hillman at £97. Thats unlimited mileage, parked on the street in London, with modifications.

I use RH Classic Insurance http://www.rhclassicinsurance.co.uk/ As they are a division of Willis insurance who my wife works for we get a bit of a discount i think.

I pay £102 a year for the Opel with 5k mileage restriction for both me and the wife to use and european breakdown cover included.

Oh yes, I forgot about the mods. My Ami's later engine and gearbox and unorthodox panneled in back windows were all mentioned specifically and presented no problems at all.

Dare I mention Adrian Flux?

Heard a few people moan about them but I've not had any bother. R4 van is £110 / year including agreed value and all that stuff.

The cheapest?

Have to say that Peter D James were good to us in a claim situation as well. The actual insurance company (PDJ are a broker) were rubbish, but a quick call to PDJ got things moving again. Really could not fault them.

Try them all, I'm with Footman james and have no complaints. My brother swears by Lancaster, both are probably worth a call, but I think Peter James might be the best atm ... I'll be trying them for a quote come renewal time.

another thumbs up for RH from me...

I was with AON classics but then they merged their 2 units under the footman james banner and the price went through the roof.

I'm now with Peter Taylor at a very reasonable price.

I had the most god awful claims experinece with FJ. Six months, SIX MONTHS they made me wait on a payout for no rason than sheer bureaucracy. Then they dropped the value at the last minute after making me wait half a frggin' year.

Took out a policy with Heritage Motor Insurance today for a fairly good price on the VW (£120). The girl on the phone was nice, I've never used em before so I can't comment further. :D

Adrian Flux would have had to quote less than £4.50 for me to use them again

I've been with RH before and no complaints.

This year 1st quote hooked me up with KGMotor.

£98 for a Peugeot 604 2.7 litre parked on the drive.

Have you tried Classicline?

http://www.classiclineinsurance.co.uk/

They are always the cheapest for me, I currently pay only £190 a year for my Alpine A610 fully comp. That is only 3,000 miles a year though which maybe an issue if your using your classic for daily duties...

thanks for all the tips -

Pete Taylor came in the best...£111 fully comp with 2 drivers 3K a year, social domestic and business use £100 excess - £60 windscreen...AND I can pay monthlyfor 8% with a ££25.60 deposit!

Legendary....this Zastava motorting is definately the way forward for a cheap bastard like me!

Nice one. If they do business cover, I may well be speaking to them myself...
