Car tax @ pre budget price if done before end of March??

Anyone know if you get car tax at the pre budget price if you tax before the end of the month?

It goes up by inflation apparently from 1st April, tax renewal is FROM 1st April but has the old price on and still says £205 on the dvla website.

That penny a litre off petrol will make the world of difference won't it!

if you want to tax for april, you will have to pay the increase. if your taxing for march, you may escape, but lose three weeks of the tax

Just been in the post office, I paid the pre budget price of £205 as per the renewal. The chap said that it did used to increase with immediate effect but now they go by what is on your renewal form.

He said I could have gone in on the 31st March and still got it at £205 but I got it today to be on the safe side!!

That's interesting. S'pose the PO were fed up of getting it in the neck by disgruntled customers! I didn't take the chance and taxed the 2CV prior to the budget.

have two to tax on 1 Apr - guess they'll both be done on last day of the month.

What are the new rates please, I missed the budget? Cheers.

Up by inflation across the board, 4.4% apparently although that makes £214.02 (£205 plus 4.4%)

Yeh, I have to pay another £85 a year for the extra 49cc the Bluey has!

I have a real downer at the moment for 1.6l cars at the moment just for that reason. BX14 FTW!

Scimmie costs £205 a year more than if it was a few years older. That's quite painful, but at least it's a large jump over the 1550cc cut-off!
