Oooh - WITHERING. But probably accurate. Obviously I'd argue that this is a unique opportunity to acquire a future classic, which owing to its mint condition and very special history looks simultaneously younger than it is and older than it ought to be, or something.

Also, Apple Maestros were LHD, and mine is down in the V5C as:

Make: ROVER

Model: MAESTRO L

WIN status: MEGA

This one?

In fact it doesn't look nearly as bad as I remembered it. Plus - his wipers are properly parked.

SOZ, BEARD-O-GIFF.

Well it doesnt appear on the DVLA site anymore :?

Come to think of it, the one I saw might have been blue

I love these cars, my Aunt owned three in a row back in the 90s. Whilst they are uncommon cars now, for some reason I keep spotting tons of them. So far, in the past month I have seen fourteen Maestros. Whilst I would love to say I can buy this one, I sadly can't as I am currently unemployed and under the age of 25, so my hopes of finding a job anytime soon are depressingly low. But good luck anyway, on the off chance you still have it when I am financially secure, i will have it then....

Anyway, to make up for my pretty pointless input, here is a proper wreck of a Maestro I saw late last year. God knows how it is still about.

14 MAESTROS IN A MONTH? I fear you've fallen through some crack in the fabric of time/space motoring reality, young Brammy.

The only person I ever knew who bought a new Maestro was a Manc friend's dad. You could say he was the traditional sort: my mate was listening to "Glad to be Gay" in his bedroom one afternoon, and his dad came in and without saying a word calmly plucked the single off the turntable, snapped it half, and walked out.

That E-plate blue one is just excellent - the shite de la shite.

and after all that Tom Robinson figured out he was straight after all...

Ever tried to snap a single in half?

Maestro+Tom Robinson=Stu_CDX. This is not quite the image to sell these things one would imagine.

Ever tried to snap a single in half?

Not for some decades. Failed CD-burning efforts have given me a lot of practice with snapping the little silver guys in two. Surprisingly tough, and leaves a lot of flaky metallic snow around. I also cut myself quite badly once.

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Stu_CDX, though Googling the name does reveal he was banned from the Maestro/Montego site, which is some achievement.

Trust me that's all you need to see. Do NOT Google him any further.

That looks like an Apple 2000 Maestro with the VV Northamptonshire registration as opposed to the VJ Herefordshire registered Ledburys. Still lush though :D

Of course I couldn't resist prising the lid off Stu_CDX's "Pandora's box".

As a result I find I cannot muster the enthusiasm for a thoughtful appreciation of that rare RHD Apple 2000.

Would you like him to lap dance for you?

Posted

If you're not careful I'll post the link to a video of him whacking one out on a Maestro's bonnet.

now that's enthusiasm!

...and something most of us claim to do over pics of such vehicles, he's obviously living the dream!
