Seen over on Retro Rides.

Dunno if I should have put this in the ebay thread, but theres some reasonable looking spanners on ebay- 9 PIECE METRIC SPANNER SET NEW

BRAND NEW WITH A 12 MONTH ARGOS WARRANTY. Only 3 quid delivered too, maybe good to have in the boot? By all accounts the quality is ok, surprisingly.

I have some of these and they are great for £3.

My mate has used what he claims is this exact set as his "main spanners" for 5 years, being used every other weekend for fairly heavy duty work.

I broke the 15mm spanner but I was putting some real grunt into it. I did slice my hand open nicely, but I should have known better than putting full steam into a 45p spanner

matey at work has some similar them and they're shit. Open ends are anyway.

A set of those would go nicely in TV2's boot, as the only tools I carry in it are the factory-fit ones

The Volvo, on the other hand, contains enough tools to do a mid-journey major service :)

I've got a set of these, only used them once, they gave me temporarily blindness and I had to have my horse shot

I have circumstantial evidence from the BBC that these spanners were the main cause of political dissatisfaction in Egypt.

I've just ordered a set, for £2.98 it's not the end of the world if they are shit, I have lots of Mac Tools and other spanners already but I can keep these in the car.

Also on a cheap recommended ebay purchase type thing, I bought a set of new number plates yesterday from these guys http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT

They turned up the next day and are spot on, it's the third time I've used them and they have been great each time, £7.50 for a set with or with the GB badge is a proper bargain, and you don't have to piss about with paperwork like Halfords ones as they are for "show" use only...

The only use I've found for 9mm and 11mm spanners is bleed nipples, which are useless with spanners as they round off instantly - I have an old metal toolbox full of random sized spanners, I can't see the point of buying cheap tools as they either break or round off nuts + boltheads = useless. I've had it with throwing cheap stuff away.

I'll leave this here:

It won't let me buy them because it thinks Paisley is an Island.

I thought it was a shirt.

Now we just need noughts and crosses Lisa to show us her box.

I'll happily give her the Red Ring Of Death

THANKS for the tip, quick and easy just as you said. I have ordered a set of spanners now as I am on a roll.
