Some of my shite past and present

Although I've been a member of Autoshite for ages I've only really started posting lately so i though it only fair I show off my legacy of shite.

There was plenty of shite before this but the Supra was around the time I acquired my state of the art 0.2 Megapixel camera.

The supra was full of rust and filler and leaked fuel in an alarming manner if you put anymore than £15's worth if Petrol in it.

It was quick though thanks to a massive rust based weight loss program.

This granny estate was a peach. It was 2.3v6 LX badermatic, which cost me £300 off ebay. I tootled around in it for a bit then sold it to a family

of 8 who were going to fit a dormer extension to it and live it in it.

This Audi was a right turd. It looked okay but the brake lines had been cursed by a witch and turned into dust. The pedal when right to the floor

and the handbrake cable had snapped. The guy I sold it to drove it up the motorway to Glasgow in front of and tied to his transit van so when the transit braked it braked the Audi. I kept a close eye on the news for the inevitable carnage but he must have made it.

A few years pass and I've got a decent Aud A4 as a daily and have saved enough to get back into the shite game in a part time basis.

Along comes this mk4 2.3v6 Ghia in black. Yet again it's an automatic, which as you'll see is something I've not managed to escape from even though I bloody hate them. It's a fair old bus this but the paint's shonky and I suspect some weldings a foot. Also the doors don't unlock via the key so I keep having to unlock it with plastic packing bands, which can attract unwanted attention in morrisons car park.

The Cortina was flogged to a nice chap who I think is still restoring it.

With some moneyz in my pocket this xr4i appeared locally on ebay and I got it for a song. It had the worst most buckled alloys on it I've ever seen, which must have cane off a dumper truck. I got a set of pepperpots for it, which I refurbed and it drove like a dream. It also had a comedy number plate A-Poo.

Someone chapped my door and offered me a ridiculous amount of money for the xr4i, which like a tool I took and bought this e34 535i sport.

This was all very well until again like a tool I tried to take a short cut down what was basically a track when it was -10 outside in a GR8 for

drifting BMW and slid into ditch at 8mph. I then undertook this seemless repair. Can you see how the bumpers a slightly different shade from the rest of the car?

Really what the f*ck was I thinking with this thing? I really couldn't figure out how it was so cheap until it dawned in me it was f*cking massive yellow 30 year old v8 merc that did 12mpg.

After the OMG 12mpg wallet KAOS caused by the Merc I thought I'd get something I could drive without mid air refueling so got this old e21 320A Baur convertible.

It was actually a lovely little car and I spent all summer fixing it up so it was back on the road just in time for winter to start so I could freeze my bollocks off.

I'd always wanted an e28 m535i and one came up locally, which i traded the e21 in against. This duly turned out to be a massive turd.

Dodgy electrics, frazzled ecu, knackered subframe bushes and totally rotten under the rear subframe. Having consulted with tonybmw he reccomended that

the best way to repair it was to remove the rear subframe and cut out the grotty floor, find a spares car, cut the floor out the good car and weld it into the m535i.

Needless to to say I stuck it on ebay the next day at a suitably low price. I've never been as happy to see a car leave my life as that.

I sat and huffed about the BMW for a while then decided I wanted something a bit less german so headed off to Harrogate and came back with this Rover SD1 2600S, which has been the most trouble free motoring any old car has ever given me. It's a real gem this thing and has had lots of love from it's previous owner including new wings, sump, heavy duty rimmers lowering springs and very nice and rare revo alloys wheels.

That's it for now although I really fancy another cortina.

I don't know why but i really fancy a BMW E28, And i agree about the hotness of that Rover too.

e28's are great cars it's just that one was a festering turd. I love that Sd1 that's why I was prepared to get many trains from Scotland to Harrogate to get it althought it's going to need some electric glue shortly thanks to a Scottish winter.

Bloody hell, that Rover is stunning! You're pretty local to me I think and I've not seen it... durr!

Posted

That Rover's just spooked me out - I was parked next to its twin in Knaresborough last April - photo to follow!

Posted

m'coli, would you also frequent a saab forum using a similar name?

Posted

cms, I work up in glasgow so you may well have seen it.

M'coli, it's probably the same car as I didn't get it until July and I've done bugger all too it other than let it get slightly rustier.

Kinkersaab, I am he!

It's a different Rover, I need to get the picture off of my phone: the reg of the other one also begins B490! I remember it was a 3500 and covered in algae - pukka shite!

More SD1 love from me too, looks great in that colour and black wheels.
