Capital started on 539 in 1973. It was also in stereo on 95.8 FM. Radio 1 was only on FM with the chart show on a Sunday evening at the time so if you had one of those new fangled music centres then Capital it was. The music was better as they played loads of better stuff than the dullards at the BBC. Kenny Everett's show was always a laugh, and Nicky Horne's show was good.
