I’ve never seen any colour photographs of CoventGarden when it was still a market. I don’t know when it moved to Nine Elms , but when I worked there in 1981 it was pretty much trendified and not much different than today, but with more wine bars and less chain restaurants and bars.

The 1966 Dr Who adventure The War Machines has some location scenes filmed at Covent Garden when it was still a street market.

That’s at least 1970, I’ve had a look since and it moved to New Covent Garden at Nine Elms in 1975.

Capri is still alive. I love the period tidemark - it must be a solid* one as the black on the sills doesn't reach the chrome strip on the doors!
