Rear fogs are worse than front fogs. I can't remember the last time I had to use mine.

I always use the handbrake when stopped and sometimes when turning into confined spaces.

If I can afford a hands free earpiece for my mobile to get incoming calls, why can't the twunt in the £80,000 BMW/Audi/Merc.

I ignore middle laners now and if they are travelling slower than the speed limit just assume they are mentally deficient and pass them on the inside with extreme caution. This normally results in them pulling in behind me and blinding me with their HID headlights whilst talking on the phone and tailgating me for the next 20 miles.

This does bring me to the main gripe which is HID headlights fitted to any vehicle above 'normal' road height. On a car they are not too bad but Rangerovers and the ilk are an f'ing nightmare. My back window is below or level to most 4X4's front bumpers and its like something from close encounters when a 4x4 pulls up behind me. The most antisocial 'safety' modification ever made to a motor vehicle. It's like having arc eye if you even glance in the mirror.Have a bit of common sense, drop to sidelights if you are blinding the poor bastard in front.

My 3 points gripe goes to lack of common sense and impoliteness to fellow road users.

Oh and one last thing. Drunk in charge of a motor vehicle - No question in my mind - attempted murder no excuses allowed.

I'd best stfu now..

Playing crap drum n bass music at excessive volume with the windows down whilst driving through residential areas?

At last, someone who's not afraid to agree with me on this! Do we have a "handshake" emoticon?

...Holland is awful - they can't drive for shit and there's so much aggression...

True. Amsterdam was bloody terrifying, even worse than Paris! Maybe they should have a schmoke...

Disclaimer: Obviously, none of the above applies to Michiel!

Very late response...

Sadly true, glad I don't have to drive every day... cycling isn't always fun either, but at least I'm good at anticipating and dodging other road users while staying on the cycle path, with my lights on when it's dark, and I only jump red lights when there isn't any other traffic... I'm a bit of a goody-two-shoes, but rather that than a goody-no-shoes-because-the-legs-aren't-there-anymore.

Being used to the driving here does explain why driving a van in London, Rome etc didn't scare me at all.

Instant DEATH for the following:

Having poorly adjusted headlights

Having a LHD import as a tax fiddle for as long as possible, but leaving LHD lights on it.

Both these are really pissing me off right now, it makes nighttime driving horrible.

One headlamp - seriously, you must have noticed. Get it sorted.

Not knowing where you're going

Failing to keep a constant speed on a motorway - if I have to overtake you more than twice, the third time I'll ram you into the armco.

Oops! mine was like this for ten days, an absolute nightmare to change the bulbs. I did spend an hour trying to remove the dud one and failed. A couple of days later started the engine to warm it up a bit before leaving work, automatic lights on - saw I had been trying to change the wrong one

Fixed now though.

I pissed of a few people today as I had a struggle to get up to 30mph on a dual carriageway. 15mph for the first half mile. Once it warms up it is fine but has no power at all before that, won't rev more than 2800 and the turbo won't cut in until 3800.

Handbrake dragging too. Had it freed of and it needed new pads (£80) but also needs new cables. Haven't used handbrake intentionally but accidentally engaged it last night, then my son went to work in my car and set the handbrake thinking it was OK.

I suppose I did keep a more or less constant speed - walking pace mostly. A lot of drivers didn't seem to look the look of the outside lane. Nothing wrong with it, did 70 with no bother once the engine righted itself. God knows what's up with it, could be any one or more of a pile of different things. Temperature sensors, boost activator, EGR, MAF - you name it, it is under suspicion.

Normally I'd hand it over to our pet magician and use my son's 306 or daughter's Saab but she has moved out and the 306 is suffering from blower failure so the screen is opaque and the car is fixing - going for fixing on Monday.

I hate this. A flash of right indicator often concentrates their minds.

any young dickhead who thinks its cool to drive round with the seatback nearly horizontal to give that "sitting low" and cool in the car look with the window fully down continually flicking the ash off a fag out that hasnt burnt any more since he flicked it 3 seconds earlier. You look a chavvy prick....stop it !

6 month ban for chucking fag ends out the window. Most cars have an ashtray.

12 month ban for chucking fast food wrappers, cartons and half eaten meals out the window.

Everything else I can live with.

Oh, and be consistent when banning people for speeding. I got banned a few years ago for totting up 12 points. Fair enough....6 month ban , I paid my dues.

But don't let other people off just because they either have;

1.A sick aunty in Macclesfield that depends on them

2. A good solicitor

3.Their job depends on being able to drive.

Treat everyone the same.

You are bang right, I need to drive thousands of miles for work, so it's ok that I break the law, no punishment.

I think the worst one was footballer Joe Cole getting off a driving ban as he may need to drive to avoid fans. You are on over £100,000 a week, I think you could afford a) a driver or B) a fucking mini-cab.
