Some of you will recall I had a substantive barn fire a few years back (pics available forthe terminally depressive)

I have FINALLY got agreeement from the Council & barn insurers to rebuild - to a much improved/enhanced spec.

I therefore need to find some funds -to cover betterment, and realise some space.

The logical place to start seems to be those currently stored in the dry remainder- that are duplicates, or unloved.

They'll shortly be moved onto a neighbours secure compound -for viewing, (thanks Phil) as I'm still touchy about the site.

I thought I'd list the first tranche here (and RR) in case anyones interested. If so I'll take pics & furnish detailed descriptions, when I next get up there late next week.

I've attached number plate details so you can look them up - if needed.

Alfasud cloverleaf 1.5 'CLT 196Y' Alfetta 'VUM 680X'

Austin Gypsy (swb, Harvey Frost &Turner front winch) 'WGC 182F'

Austin Scamp 6 wheeler 'BUT 721Y'

D.K.W. Munga 'ECD 439C'

Fiats: Strada 130TC 'B444 JGY',, 125s.t CKK580K, 125s'4285 N0'

NSU Ro80 (Audi 4 pot) 'HRV 311N'

Porsche 924auto 'A104 TUV'

Standards: 10 Pickup 'XBP 664', Pennant 'JSL 451', Pennant '646 UXN',Pennant OSL 195'

Also .possibly a BX gti 4/ 4 and a Supra turbo that will both need MOT'ing (to get the personal plates off).

May well be more -once we sort the space needed to tear down, dig down and rebuild.Basement & 2 floors!!! Yippee.

Let me know if you want 'first dibs'. Otherwise they''ll go on Ebay when out/sorted/cleaned/evaluated etc.

Thanks

Keep us posted bickle!!! I've had a hankering for a BX GTi for a while certainly.

Some dead cool stuff there!

I like the idea of a 6-wheel scamp on the basis of it's utter ridiculousness.

Sadly I suspect every one of these items will be beyond my meagre funds... :(

4x4 BXs are very rare now, if you get some more details I'll whazz an advert up on BXC and BXP for you.

I'd be interested in the Standard 10 pick up please....

You're doing this deliberately, aren't you, you and Torsten? Four weeks ago I was down to five cars, I had some space and a bit of money in my pocket, and there was bugger all of any interest available. Now I've bought another three cars so am down to one storage space and not much money, and you both decide to get rid of all this drool-worthy tat.:wink:

Although I suppose I could always sell a kidney. And buy your Ro80.

A six wheeler if I remember correctly, I know thwy came as pick ups, but thats about all I remember about them.........

Go on, then, let's see...

Posted

Oh f.f.sake.

I wasnt expecting that...

In no particualr order..

Sir Testes. I've an 'ordinary 'H'plate 'BX Gti currently on the road-if you're desperate?

Likely to be used Tuesday to tow my new Russian tank home- so I'm sure they'llbe pics....

The grey 4 wheeler needs a new clutch (- horribel job)& probablyanexhaust bynow- none avaialble-needs fabricating.

However- i'llhaveto legaliseit to getthe plate off.G platefrom memory.

Pog. The 6 wheeled scamp really is an ugly bugger. Built on a spaceframe-so no real subframe issues, I intendedto cutoff the hardtop and take it to France-permanently.

However- something better came up,so its sat.Prob 4years now.

1275cc recon, in good knick,, 12 inchwheels on the front, 10inchs on the back-wouldnt take much to return to the road.

Whether you'd want todrive it though...

Cavette-ta.I'm on BXC too.I'll sort the photos, first.

FatP.The RO80 was taken against a bad debt. Needed a paint job-(brown) and got anaverage one, but its filthy right now - so I'll give it a wash to check it over.

The Audi is a miserable experience in it-feels grossly underpowered. It lookstiddly in the bay, too.

Additionally,I stoved the door in (silly bugger) on a bail of straw, and have done nowt since. Parked up in disgust-walked away. Shouldnt take much -but that engine will never do it justice.

WVM.My old P&J -sadly orphaned when the van was destroyed in the fire,Its a late 65 with Pennant wings-dark bblue, with a light blue tonneau. Usedas apartscarrier (fairly carefully -before the size of the parts overtook it.

Sadly covered in cack and looking pretty dishevelled, I'll give this one some t.lc before getting back to you.

Deserves better.

Tagora SX. PM replied too. Strada is a Mk2, in average condition. Unbuggered with and virtually unmodified. I'llcheckthe rust out next week. Photos too follow.

Torsten - talk Tuesday.

Wuvs -beenthere.Always a swop for the Innocenti available. They dont all have to go, and there's plenty more toexcite in the other sheds ifthis doesnt raise sufficient.

Pics of those causing interest next week.

torched_motors_003.jpg

4 rows wide, 5 cars deep. One half of the destruction. Plus around 40 sets of alloys, several twin cam engines, 5 or 6 early Suzukis etcetc.

Each of these was MOT'd,most were taxed..

Not to worry, and thanks. Were any of them salvageable? Any usable bits survive the fire?

Fiat 2300 estate was scorched.

Renault 10's running gear was Ok.

SE5 lived again.

FSO 2litre pickup was yanked out -but they twisted its chassis and broke the axle. Sold off -as was.

Nowheelssurvived-all ovalled. Nothing else lived

Did it live again?

Posted

Yes. Tom Widdringtons old car (secretary -Fiat Motor Club).disinterred from the bottom of his garden, weeds literally covered right over the top of it.

Hauled home with the Gypsy- new clutch & several hydraulic puzzles later -t'was MOT'd. Horrible to drive.

Postfire-melted interior, crackedscreen, I bought a total rotter in Manchester (towed home by HPE volumex-that wasn't fun...) which gave its guts up for the 65. Mechanical & lighting spares remain safe.

Still in the shed- still horribleto drive, prob wont sell.....?

Could you let me have details of the Sud please? Either here or pm. I have a friend who is a Sud nut who'll certainlt be interested.

Thanks

Jeepers, I winced when I saw the picture.

BX4x4 exhausts are made of unobtanium but there's two or three that own them on BXC and I'm sure at least two of them were going to get one made.

Keep us posted bickle!!! I've had a hankering for a BX GTi for a while certainly.

I always thought you had masochistic tendencies - now I know for sure.

BX 4x4 = much pain financially, then much smiles, then much more pain in the wallet area.

That photo nearly brings an tear to my eye everytime i see it  , Wasn't it arson?.

I'd love to see some photos of your stock, The only one's I've ever seen are the one's which ended up on ebay recently which cause a ZOMG from me and most of the other Internet forums i saw them posted on.

Mentioned this to a mate this afternoon and he has expressed a possible interest in one of the Pennants, so could I have moar info on those too please?

Posted

i can only imagine how you felt when that fire happened.

but onward and upward with the insurance being finally sorted, good luck with the rebuild.

That pic makes me angry every time. Maybe you can install a web-based security camera system, so we can help you guard the collection while admiring the cars from behind our desks?

There's only one car of yours I really really want... But I'm patient, and it's too cold anyway.

Alfasud cloverleaf 1.5 'CLT 196Y'

More details please? Silver or Copper? Complete and running?

I had silver QO, CLT 185Y, for about five years in the nineties. Ahhhh..

Posted

Ok ok. I'm gettingdeluged.

I'll sort pics when next up there -probThurs/Friday.

Spud is black,on revos, original interior.Good runner-engine a little tired.Alwaysintenededa1.7 33 motor -backin the day. had 2 rebuilds- may now need another.

Pennants are a motley collection ranging from boggersto mild rod.Cant remeber condition -not really noticed in years.

The BX exhaust isnt really aproblem -get one made-but the clutch is.At thetime the ONLY quote I got was £700; so we put it on our ramp to have a look. And then took it down again and parked it.

I can get it MOT'd on the clutch-(Its still a mild slip -but it was a towcar then)-future then uncertain

I'm elated about the shed. I've got what I wanted- at minimal expense.Should start within a week or two, completed around Xmas/New Year.

It enables secure storage for the farm equip 'downstairs', (-now necessary as theTurf contract is collapsing; so back to subbed 'farming). My (other) hobby at ground level and cars/bikes safely on the top floor. Possibly a mezz, rightat the top (funds permitting)

Damn close to ideal.

Hopefully it'll allow a reshuffle in the other 2 -one totally reverting to agriculture. Marvellous

A BX 4wd with a parped clutch sounds right up my street, keep us posted!
