autofive Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 even with a tracking number, courier receipt and copies of abusive emails from buyer paypal still refund.
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted October 7, 2010 Author Posted October 7, 2010 For fucks sake!!!!!!!!! Sent a crossed postal order for 20 quid for something, recorded delivery on Monday and 'it's not arrived'. I've just about had enough of this now. If it gets cashed, I'll know the fucker's had it. He'll also be getting a visit in the not too distant.
Mr Lobster Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 even with a tracking number, courier receipt and copies of abusive emails from buyer paypal still refund. Yeh, they will. Legally they have to. If the buyer says they haven't had it and it can't be proved they have then they will refund. Any card provider would do the same. BUT, if the item was sent tracked / signed for / whatever then that should be covered by the Seller Protection programme and they should be refunding you as well. We've claimed against this once or twice in the past although anything getting lost thats been sent tracked / recorded / signed for is exceedingly rare. @ Rev Blue Jeans - Has the letter containing the p/o been signed for by the recipient?
M'coli Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 I've enquired with a trader about their dispatch and postal service on an item* I wish to buy. The trader states that the item will be dispatched within 4 working days of the payment going through, and then a further 7-9 days for it to be delivered - so assuming 5 working days in the week, that could take nearly 3 weeks to reach me! Considering that I ordered some heavier items** from a different supplier at 11pm on Monday night, it was delivered yesterday at 1pm and was cheaper too, I'm somewhat at odds to understand the timescales this seller's on about. I don't mind paying the price of delivery if it'll reach me promptly, but nearly 3 weeks? FFS. However, they haven't replied to me, so I think it's a case of FOAD. *Brake master cylinder for the Cavalier**Belgian Grand Cru-style homebrew kits.

Will be contacting the PO tomorrow. I'd imagine some light fingered vermin in the sorting office has trousered it, as per.
autofive Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 just read thishttp://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-11495395yet another example of greedy, lazy and criminal postal staff
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted October 8, 2010 Author Posted October 8, 2010 Spoke to some Bird who sounds just as annoyingly smug as the air hostess on Meet the Fockers. Despite posting Monday morning first class, it not being delivered until at least Saturday (if at all) is 'acceptable', apparently. If I'd sent it standard first class, it would have been there on Tuesday and I would have had the bits Yesterday so I could do the job Saturday. Now I can't. Thanks Royal Mail.

The Reverend Bluejeans Posted October 9, 2010 Author Posted October 9, 2010 Spoke to another pre-programmed Royal Mail Moron today. The story has changed. It's now 15 working days to deliver a first class letter. Two bastard weeks!!! They are fucking useless.
DCLane Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 15 working days is 3 weeks (Mon-Fri only). So it's worse! My stupid eBay seller that I bought a toy rocket off minus the discs needed is now minus the £21 thanks to eBay. He agreed to send the missing discs (cost £3), he didn't and won't reply for the past two weeks so I asked eBay to refund me the cost of the discs (the £3) since he hadn't sent them. I only asked for the discs cost or the missing discs. eBay refunded the whole £21 for the rocket. I've bought the discs for £3 myself. Not something I like doing, but he'd clearly opened the box, taken the item out and tried to sell it as new.
Pillock Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 I'd like to pass on news of a good (gasp!) friendly (shock!) ebay transaction. Bought myself a new phone... well, been wanting a new one for ages and made that time-honoured mistake of beer+ebay. I hit BIN on a Motorola Milestone. This was Sunday night/Monday morning (about 1am). 9am Monday, so 8 hours later, I got an email. Can I just confirm my address as my eBay and PayPal addresses differ. Ooops, my fault, corrected PayPal around 1pm and sent the seller a message saying I'd done this.1.30pm - I got my tracking reference for the 48 hour delivery.9.30am Tuesday - phone arrives! Took one working day really, and most of the delay was Royal Mail's or my own doing. See, it can work. However I now need to sell my old phone, and there's NO WAY I'm doing this on eBay
Pillock Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 T-Mobile G2 Touch - a rebadged HTC Hero. Mint condition, year old, rooted, boxed, 8GB card.
DCLane Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 However I now need to sell my old phone, and there's NO WAY I'm doing this on eBay Why not? Whilst I'm not keen on eBay I've sold three phones on there this month. All three winning bidders paid way over the odds, yet still paid.
Pillock Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Because my one and only phone sale on eBay - a Motorola A920 - ended up getting shipped to god knows what country. Somewhere asian, I forget where. The guy sends me an address but without punctuation or any idea of how it should be laid out - muddled through, never turned up, chased it 6 weeks later and got it back. Wants it sending again, refused to pay more, claimed money back for the original purchase so I'm out of pocket for the postage first time around. I know it can be avoided but was just hassle. I'm only asking £120 for it, mazumamobile will give me £98 scrap value without accessories.
Father Ted Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 I luzzed a 5530 through some phone recycling thing rather than bay of E it. I really dont like selling high value items that cant be picked up on ebay.Got £63 for it so I was happy.
DCLane Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Aha - understood. I won't ship anything outside of the UK on eBay or Amazon. Been scammed twice so won't do it again. I don't care how much they're prepared to bid. At least in the UK I can use Recorded Delivery.
