Bedford Dilemma

Bernard developed a smoking habit on the way back from holidays. After spending loads of time diagnosing it it is the brake servo that has got a hole in it (99% sure)

Issue is that a replacement part is over £250  Someone suggested a fiat ducato servo would fit. So bought one from ebay for £40 with brake master attached. Took the brake master off and it wont fit

I thought about just fitting the ducato master and servo but the holes for the brake pipes are on the wrong side. Now I have been recommended to replace the brake lines to get them to fit. It is getting to the stage where it is more hassle than it is worth especially with dark and wet days approaching.

Getting pushed for time due to moving house and other bits. Any suggestions of how I could do this easily?

Some pics below showing the differences in the servos

Make up some short link pipes from the new master cylinder to the original pipes rahter than replacing the whole pipe.

Ah that might be an idea :) Wouldnt it look really dodgy?

He does but wants best part of £300 for the pleasure!

Hence people using the ducato one that is only £40

Be careful splitting the servo/MC as the seals may need replacing - if there' no pressure when braking when you put it back together, it's possibly pissing fluid inside the servo! It might not though.

That servo setup looks similar to Vauxhall ones, the mounting holes look similar and it looks like it has rod-to-socket plunger thingy.
