Hi Guys,,,,I hope to have a few quid next week and would like to put it into a Fuego if possible. I do not have broadband where I live and the phone bill is getting bigger by the day on dial-up much to Mrs Renomads annoyance  ,,,so if anybody spots any  Fuego,,anywhere,,,let me know(if your not interested I suppose.). They seem to be very scarce now. Mr. Sanath has all the good ones gone to Australia.

Cheers

There's a R25 TXE going free on that ad page.

Also, regarding the Hungarian R10 - how can that have a UK MOT?

Would you be prepared to go to France for one, tho'? Forgive me for stating the obvious, but there's a fair few on Leboncoin.fr. Including the turbo diesel version, which I wasn't aware of.

No problem,,I had though about France but I sold a beautiful R16 because it was LHD and I never felt totally comfortable with the wheel on the wrong side  , so not going there again.

I thought it would be awkward driving a LHD over here.

However, I have been driving the R14 around for a few weeks now and it feels perfectly natural, in fact I get confused now getting in a RHD car!!

Or, DO buy another left hooker, just in case Ireland does change to driving on the right. Apparently, some mad TD stood up in The Dail, stating that he thought this a good plan. (and got laughed at)

Years ago - many years ago, I bought and restored the then well-known left hand drive 1967 Renault 16 GL that was around for ages in the Renault owners Club and had been subject to some classic car mag articles - including one with me! It had been ordered by an English couple from Renault as a left-hooker, as they were moving to Spain.

To me, part of its charm was the fact that, as a French car, the wheel was on the wrong side. I kick myself for selling it, but keeping on top of the body was like looking after the Forth Bridge.

When I've sold all these Meganes that are living here rent-free, I'm on the first available flight out to bring back a 14 TS, or TL, or GTL, or 18 TL, or Estate, or. . .

Left-hookers don't frighten me - although, oddly enough, covering more than double figures mileage in a 14 does :shock:

Driving a left-hooker on the left is one of those Marmite things, I suppose. I drove a handful of lefty Opels for a garage years ago, and enjoyed a pleasurable evening blasting about Glasgow in a lefty R5 GTturbo on German plates once. Same for cruising around in my mate's Chrysler. I enjoy the oddity factor, most people I know don't, so fair play there.

:D:D Well I haven't done a 100 mile journey in mine yet. I have done a 80 mile round trip so far and it didn't miss a beat, although it does have rattling shock absorber!!

The other night I dreamt that I was at a car auction and there was a Yellow Fuego there. I remember panicing because someone on Autoshite wanted one but it was to late to tell them.

I need a break...
