Took me a while to get what this origianlly was!

 Is this still around?!?

If it's the one I think it is, it was originally done by a bloke called John Baldaccino, and I first saw it at the Bristol Custom Car Show in 1980!

When I worked for a large VAG dealership they had the reg numbers "GT1" and "AUD1".

Those plates must be worth a bit, - how long ago was this?
Just spotted this reply....The dealership had the plates from at least 1980 until 1998. I worked there in '98 and they were there then. Twas the dastardly Ian Skelly's that had 'em. That was, without doubt, the lowest low point of my automotive career and never to be repeated. Even working as a salesman for a Nissan dealership in 2000 wasn't anywhere near as mind-numbingly tedious as working for Skelly's.

Nice pics 8) ,the 10th one down looks like a Citroen Mehari to me.Loving the ex-ice cream van,it reminds me of an FI test car

And finally for now. I mentioned a while back about another location from TV/film comedy history. Will be majorly impressed if anyone can ge this one!!!! My all time favourie funny tv/film thing. It's quite obscure but has been mentioned on the forum before...

That big Zodiac is gorgeous. Is the P1800 on a 'U' plate though? I didn't think they issued 'U' :?:

It was indeed The Comic Strip presents: Mr Jolly Lives next Door.

Funniest film ever. And loads of kit in it, most notably the "safest car in the world" Heinkel Trojan bubble car. And the "Dreamytime Escorts" Honda van ...

Posted Image

Hmmm....neither the IMDB nor IMCDb sites can find anything on The Comic Strip presents: Mr Jolly Lives next Door. :?:(

A festive update. Some old, some new, some Autoshite, some aren't but still rare shite, but all to me are to a greater or lesser extent conversation pieces. Tranche 1:

It's back to back Protons in Stevenage, they're everywhere.

Posted Image

Daily driver ADO16, nice to see ambling along

Posted Image

Ditto this Rover P6 in the same street...

Posted Image

And what's this funny electrical contraption?

Posted Image

Could be a converted milkfloat

Posted Image

Lovely little 500, standard stock

Posted Image

How about this daily smoker, a fine Humber Hawk, maybe Seth has seen this one before...

Posted Image

Fancy Fiat from afar..

Posted Image

Then, what's this ahead?

Posted Image

Not a bad example of a Karmann Ghia

Posted Image

Even better, a tidy Renner 4..

Posted Image

Posted

It's another Renault 4 within moments and a few hundred yards away..

Posted Image

And a couple more oldies worth a quick glance...

Posted Image

Futureshite gold dust, a Honda Insight..

Posted Image

Nice, boat tail Spyder...

Posted Image

Period shot of a Traveller (apologies for MM pic etc etc but hey)

Posted Image

Another repeat from eons ago, tidy K plate 911

Posted Image

SD1. Never knew they had an optional factory fitted snowplough..

Posted Image

And then, OMG OMG ZOINKS!!!!1!!

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Taxed til June 09, so that's not been sitting there all that long.

Posted

Renault 4 Hat trick!!

Posted Image

Good to see this DS is still lurking around after all this time

Posted Image

Double header classics, not a big fan of either but nice to see them together...

Posted Image

Love to see an early red 924, purely due to having a Corgi model of the same back in the day, this one had B&W chessboard trim and very faded panels...

Posted Image

This A35 has been here for years, and long may it stay. Shame its neighbourly Mk 1 Interceptor has been carted off though....

Posted Image

Alfa 75 that's a bit not that good really..

Posted Image

X plate Saab 99

Posted Image

What is it?

Posted Image

The ultimate in vulgar, a Maybach..

Posted Image

That's more like it, a lovely old Bentley.

Posted Image

Posted

It's an early Passatt, firmly in the realms of Autoshite these days..

Posted Image

Gorgeous. Battered and bruised BX estate..

Posted Image

Well shabby Capri..

Posted Image

An early Subaru SVX, well rare, anyone ever had one, wonder what they are like?

Posted Image

Posted Image

Americanshite, can't remember what now..

Posted Image

Buildingshite interlude in Borehamwood nr Elstree, location of all the Confessions films, and some On The Buses too. After watching these films so many times, felt weird wandering around the town where they were all filmed. Never been there before but it all felt so familiar....

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted

Finally, another mixmatch of stuff from ma' Shoreditch hood.

Some local nightspottage. Pug 504 Coupe...

Posted Image

Posted Image

And a Fiat 127

Posted Image

And even an R8, not Autoshite in any way but I bloody love these..

Posted Image

Loving this, Tata pickup...

Posted Image

Good old workhorse Pug 505 Estate

Posted Image

Ditto this Honda Accord..

Posted Image

More Shoreditch Bedford Shennanigans...

Posted Image

Posted Image

Classics interlude..

Posted Image

Aston Martin DB6..

Posted Image

Sunbeam Alpine..

Posted Image

An Alvis in Hitchin..

Posted Image

Quickie Leicester train station interlude with this R25 saloon..

Posted Image

And finally, the EL clan organises the relocation of a family jewel from it's longterm safekeeping in Leek, Staffs, awaiting a new home elsewhere...
