This appeared in the garage one night last week, making clunking and buzzing noises in the lights before falling to the floor. I put it outside next morning, took some photos but have no clue what it is.

Also from the strange pile, same night at ASDA I spotted this giant peugot 206

A couple of years ago we had loads of those. They would come out at night and fly into the windows when the lights were on. Make quite racket.

First one I encountered face to face when I went out for a fag one night - Nearly shat me sen!:shock:

IIRC, those beetles have a weird habit of mobbing you if you so much as go anywhere near them, a couple of years ago I was outside (near some sand dunes) when the little b-stards started attacking me, so I shat myself and ran!

I used to see those bugs when I lived in the sticks, might be coincidental but they only used to appear after something diesel had been running, thus my name for them was diesel bugs. They're only barely just able to fly as well, had a habit of falling out of the air at random, and then spend half an hour or so taking off again, imagine a Chinook powered by Perkins 4108.

The beetles where i live are massive, I had two dead stag beetles in my garden last year after i accidentally killed them with bug killer :?

We also get these hobble flying beetles called Mayflys, or Cockchafers, They are nasty things that we only get in April, they come out of the hedge and fly into the patio doors with a big bang, If you get them in your hair the only way to get them out is to cut your hair as they stick to it.
