As i was leaving my house earlier to collect my new car i saw this dark blue Talbot Horizon drive past, I managed to take chase up the road and catch it up as two elderly ladies were just leaving it behind.

As i was in a bit of a rush i couldn't take anymore but luckily on the way back it was still there!, So i booted Mrs Trigger out of the car to get some better snaps for me! 8)

It still has it's Anglia Garage dealer sticker in the back window which was the Talbot/Peugeot garage on Derby road.

What a stunner! I had a 1.1 LE in that colour years ago - a truely miserable driving experience. There's a rather nice silver-blue 1.5 GLS in Coltishall - must get a snap of it next time I pass through that way.

Trigger, if you go to the FarmFoods car park on Bramford Rd, it usually lives in there!

Is it two old birds who own it?

I'd really like a Horizon but getting to find a decent one is nigh on impossible. A friend of mine has a mint early Chrysler model in bright orange...they were only badged Chryslers for 7 months before becoming Talbots in August '79.

I saw what looked like two old girls walking up the driveway of the house outside.

I've never spotted it before Kevin, I might head up to Farm Foods to get a better look at it as it seems really tidy, I bet the old dear has had it since new.

Yes, worth a look as it's usually parked next to a mint A-Reg Escort L!

I'm sure that Horizon was on the forecourt of CATs Garage about 2 years ago - Up for £795 IIRC.

Now going to walk to the pub (via Farmfoods) & scope out if it's the same car. What a loser.

That's the same as my old mans old Horizon, FSW 369Y but his did not have the front vallance. Were they standard on later cars?

We also had a Chrysler one. Got some photos somewhere. Cant remember how long that lasted. 2 Sunbeams before that. Will look later.

The enquiry is complete

The vehicle details for FSW 369Y are:

Did not live long. Interestingly it was replaced by a 309 which lived for quite a long time. I used to see it all the time driving round Littlehampton. Would have loved to have got hold of it before it was scrapped.

I can just about remember when these were a more common sight on Britain's roads. I'm guessing by the decent condition it must be tucked safely away in a garage when not in use.

Right, I'm back from the pub. Farmfoods Horizon is the same one you spotted Trig :D. 99% sure it's the car that CATs had for sale too...
