Cyprus spots, and further afield

Datsun posted previously, on the way to a new home where it will, apparently, be restored. This was the day we collected my Granada, which was the return-load.

That's the best news I've heard all week! Proper cheered me up that has. One of my favourite OJCs being brought back to life.

It'd be great if you could track down the new owner and get some photos as he progresses.... :D

Love all the other stuff too...

"As he progresses," unlikely, but "after completion," yes, that might be possible. There does seem to be some continuing contact going on. If I can get pics at a later date, obviously I will.

A few more to keep you amused. Paphos area is undergoing some sewer upgrades at the moment, and the resulting roadworks and diversions have become legendary. They've had plenty of time; some of them have been in place over a year. You get diversions off the diversions, down all kinds of blatantly unsuitable back lanes, and poorly-signposted too. It's no surprise, therefore, to find you've taken a wrong turn now and then. I don't worry about it, I just pop my camera out of its case and hope to justify the action. So when I found myself turning round at the end of a cul-de-sac...

Sweet, isn't it? I mentioned it to my friend Andreas and he knows the car well.

He knows this Jag too, it belongs to one of his friends. I shot it a few months ago in primer, when he had it in for spraying, but somehow I missed the finished article so I was glad of the chance to see it again. Note the number plate, most appropriate for me!

Here's another he knows, he sold this car a couple of years ago and I spotted it on Thursday night, mostly because the For Sale sign hit me in the eye (as they do...). So Friday morning I went back for the picture. Look: rain! Yes, we get it here too. The difference is, in UK it's continuous; here you get it all in about 20 minutes (and I mean all!) then nothing for weeks, or even months. Well that's a slight exaggeration, we've been getting violent storms for a few days now and it looks likely to continue for a week or so, but between the storms we get tropical sunshine!

And this is what happens when you're househunting, you find something parked-up under the apartment block next door. Despite 4 flat tyres, this Opel has a loaded trailer still attached!

If you want it, say so now, because it's in the way for hauling shite out when the next cull comes. If he knows he has a buyer he will keep it safe. Want me to ask the big question?

i wish..but no..haha but thanks...im not rich enough..i spose i could reverse the bonnet opening on the Viva and just pretend its one...but once im a successful coffee baron in a year or two ill come over and see if i can find one...how did u get on with the Escort rubbers..did the Aussies have what u were after?

They did have them listed, but subsequently I found a supplier in England, from where postage should be cheaper. Tyvm for the info though, you never know when stuff like this is going to be useful. Much appreciated! I've put in an order now, enough for 3 cars. Should take care of the immediate needs.

As for being a coffee baron, ok, no probs; that'll be about a week before the teenage romance I'm writing tops the best-seller charts? Then I'll be buying a 1958 Coupe de Ville to keep at my vacation home in Florida....
