Having had a near miss in puretech failure I would be interested to see what's involved.

Being the proud* owner of a puretech engine, and having just done a wet belt I’d interested to see how tricky the rings are, as assuming the rest of the car survives they’ll need doing at some point!

Isn't it the same engine that leaves a lot of JLR products on the hard shoulder?  In fairness you could put a Volvo red block in them and they'd still fuck up.

I've had 2 early C4 Picasso's . Motability though.

Probably  mine had a proper engine? 1600 iirc.

I do know that one had a proper auto gearbox, and the other selected and set off in anything, at any time.

The thing that stands out in my memory, was the seats and armrests were perfect. and the screen is upright so you don't bang your head getting in.

Ok, yes, the C6 is not well known for crank borkage, but it has happened and it's a well known issue on the Lion engine, hence always in the back of my mind.

That said, mine has 170k miles on it, I've done 4k of those and other than some irritating electrical issues and a small leak, it's been great to drive.

Looking at it in the broad light of day, it may well go to my FiL to replace the mk3 Focus automatic estate I lent him a year or two ago. That’s still sub 85k miles with a recent new clutch pack and gearbox ecu which is performing faultlessly these days so would probably fetch circa £4k plus in the current market whereas the Picasso would be equally suitable for him as well as being five years newer and more importantly, I wouldn’t have to warranty it!!
