It's definately a GSM phone.. Hmm.

If an o2 won't work, it may be a "stream 1" in which case Vodafone ought to work.

o2 and Voda are on 900 aren't they, with T-immobile and Orange on 1800?

I've got a Voda sim here somewhere, I'll try it in a minute.

Beige is goooooood.

The carphone is a Motorola International 2200 GSM jobbie.

Not a V12 but would this be of interest Warren;

560 SEC iin Ormskirk, originally owned by Peter Moore of Littlewoods

FUCK ME! That's a bit beige!

Your point being ????????????

The salesman at Road Range must of laughed his cock off when he was asked to supply a beige 560SEC! I'll bet someone in the factory made a phone call to the UK just to make sure before filling his spray gun.

That's nowt. I have seen, with my own eyes, the only M635CSi ever built......in pasta green.

It really is as grim as it sounds, yet is strangely compelling. One owner from new who specially ordered it. I bet the Krauts were laughing their bollokz off when that came down the line.

"Vot ze fuk.................?"

Woo-fuckin'-hoo! Carphone sorted :)

The sim goes in the boot thingy instead of the slot under the handset. C'mon, happy frickin' daze!

Just to make things extra perfect, it says "UK CELLNET" which has to be a bonus.

Get in! Fuken dugz boz! I like it! I'd worked with mobiles for the last 5 years, but we never saw any car phones! I hope I get a chance to look at it sometime.

my 607 has one, all wired into the radio speakers

it's way better than a bluetooth thingy because the quality is so good its almost like talking to someone that's in the car with me

I just divert calls from my normal mobile to the sim int the car when I get in the car and undivert when I get out

Nice one there Pete. I've got an old Motorola Startac phone somewhere that displays CELLNET when a sim is put in, or at least it did when I tried a couple of years ago.

My Dad used to have an NEC carphone in his mk1 Sterling. He took it out when he sold it and its been in my possesion (sort of) for the last few years, I dont know where for life of me it is now. I wanted to fit it and get it working in my Sterling just for show (That aint gonna happen now :x )

My mate also recently sold a Granada with a carphone that still worked, though only lit up with sounds, it was an old analgoue phone that couldnt be hooked up anymore.

The operator name is stored on the phone, and matched up to the ID on the SIM - since Cellnet became BTCellnet and then O2, they kept the old ID so an old phone will indeed read Cellnet. My old Nokia did the same, although firmware updates tend to update the list of operators.

Class act that though. My 90 Quattro had the entire phone kit including a box the size of an A4 binder under the parcel shelf marked "BT", but annoyingly the handset bad been (carelessly) removed from the console. Speaker, mic, aerial etc all still there.

It truly is the mutt's nuts. Even receives texts, but doesn't send 'em!

Doesn't appear to have a useable memory though, or caller id.

Apparently, if you don't change the oil religously when you should the V8 gets in a right strop, to the extent that the hydraulic tappets won't "pump up", and it won't start. Never got a car to start before by changing the oil, but it worked...........

I think Pete's is a straight-6 though, isn't it? The V8s got a redesigned dash.

Ooooh, you bugger. That's me that is.

Jeezus, that thing took about a month to get up there.

I would hope that the XJR would get from 110 to 130 rather quicker than that. My Renault 21 will do it in 15 seconds and the XJR has a lot more grunt than the Renner.
