Sounding obvious but you’ve to throughly shake it BEFORE pouring it in. The amount of people I’ve seen not reading the instructions and glugging it in without doing that then presumably complaining it hasn’t worked…

Don’t forget Jaguar recommended addition of Bars Leaks from factory on the 12 cylinder units.

I had concerns with the C1 today , the header tank level had dropped a bit since its last top up in the summer ...

3 squirts of a mouses bladder filled it up again ..  should I reach for the K seal   ???

I bought some once. It sat in the passenger footwell for a few days before I backed it to the factors and bought a head gasket instead.

I think i just needed a few days to have a word with myself.

Yep, got it in the XM at the moment

developed a leak from both the water pump and thermostat housing that would drain the header tank in a day or two

so poured some in and topped it up with coolant

that was June, never had a single drip since

no obvious effects, heater still strong and still runs cool with its sticky thermostat so I’m happy

Depends what it is, leaking housing or something then just mend it. If it’s something that’s going to be a right shitbag to sort out like heater matrix get it chucked in. BUT shake it first!! 😂

Wasn’t there a free recall on golf heater cores ?

When was that? I replaced the matrix on one of my mk2 Golf GTIs years ago  - it would have been around 10 years old at the time I reckon. Bit late to do anything about it now, mind 😆

Is it called K seal because it was invented to assist the thousands of grateful Rover owners who suddenly found themselves in need of such a product when the K series was launched?

You do wonder 🤔

I was running a £225 Mk3 Astra a few years back and stuck some in after noticing a distinct lack of coolant on a long drive (along with fresh coolant).  Seemed to do the job for about a year until several unrelated things broke at once and spelt the end.

Mk1 Punto, started leaking from the radiator when I was working away from home, stuck in some RadWeld and it held together for about six months until the radiator corroded a bit more and it dumped most of it's coolant in CostCo's carpark.  Heater and everything else was fine, I fitted a new radiator and ran it for another six months before selling it on. Was chatting to a guy who used to be a mechanic in the Army, he said they used to chuck two bottles of RadWeld or similar into each Chieftain as they were always pissing out coolant from somewhere.
