here we have a dilema! we bought a corsa sxi 5dr on motability hp (no credit checks) .we have since had our benefit stopped??.we just wondered if any body in liverpool and surrounding areas would like to take the agreement over? we will put you in touch with the dealer that sorted out this one and it comes with a 3yr gaurantee too.the criteria is that you have the higher rate of DLA for 5 years.REMEMBER...YOU WILL BE LIABLE FOR THE INSURANCE AND THE SERVICING---BUT AT THE END OF THE TERM THE CAR IS YOURS, THERE IS NO MILEAGE RESTRICTIONS AND DRIVER HISTORY IS NOT RESTRICTED.

Lol, you can't take the agreement over. It has to be paid off and a new one started if you want to refinance. Most motab customers are scroungers

I do wonder how many takers there would be for the Motabilty scheme if they still used AC Invacars.

My mate was telling me about how his barely disabled relation is getting one, and how ace it is - a free car with free insurance and servicing. He was driving me down to the scrap yard to get another part for my car. I was amazed, how has it come to this?

On another forum, someone has got one of these:

How disabled do you have to be to be eligible for motability?

Posted

Not sure. If you're pushing your severely disabled kid through blowing wind in a broken pram.

But this relation was very overweight, and passed the car on to her healthy daughter (who was in a relationship with my brother).

A fat woman in a free Motability car. I'm struggling to think of a more depressing sight.

A fat woman in a scooter with her arse cheeks hanging over the seat?

I was asked to MOT a handback from a Motab customer the other day. I refused on the grounds that the smell nearly knocked me out when I opened the door. I am waiting for the response from the fleet management firm........ I reckon I will have to do it regardless. Boo.

My neighbour is on MB scheme I think.... well she's on a crutch, out of work and has just gone from an 08 Mazda to a 10-plate Zafira. Yet mostly it's her bloke that uses it whilst she walks the kids to school, and to the shops?

In a lot of cases though MB cars are used properly, and actually are needed. It's a shame that there are a few people who like to take the p'ss and threaten the scheme for everyone. If I was suddenly disabled (like properly disabled, not just too many pies) I'd like to think I could get a few things to make life easier - a car being one of them.

I have no problem with the genuine patrons of the mobility scheme.

Thing is, round here they just seem to be driven by people who are so fat they can't walk 100 yards.

What about a fat women getting out of her free Motability car in 'Gala Bingo' car park.

I can understand people being given a new KA or Matiz but an Insignia 2.0 CDTI is taking the piss somewhat.

If everyone who claimed Motability was given a Rover 25 we would still have a car industry.

My father has been given a Motability Focus C-Max. He's no scrounger, but has been diagnosed with a severe heart condidtion which means he cannot work. He has always been a manual labourer, and hates that he can't work. He also hates the c-Max with a vengeance. It has been in the dealer for various issues more times than he can recall. My dad introduced me to shite, and always drove cheapies.

So not all motability drivers are scum - just most of them!!

Edited for accuracy.

The car she got was a later Rover 416/45.

Think it's got a bit:

Freeloader: 'Well, you've offered me a Corsa, but I've got five kids, how am I going to get them round as well? Me neighbour's got one of dem.'

Dealer: "Well, OK, we can upgrade you to a Scenic?"

Freeloader: 'Well, I've got to get to school quicker, and it needs to be a quicker car.'

Dealer: "Well OK, we've got a Range Rover Overfinch here."

Then the week later:

Freeloader: "Ere, my neighbour got a Range Rover Underfinch, and I've only got a Scenic, why aven't I got a Range Rover Underfinch?!"

It's not for your kids, or your needs beyond your 'disability', it's a scheme to get you motivated. Resurrect Reliant and get them building them blue things up there. ^

It might (perhaps) have made more sense for the government to have kept Rover going just to churn out a mid spec 1.6 petrol Rover 45 to use for Motability, let people have them and run them for ten years then scrap them and let them have a new one?

There are plenty of genuine people on motability but sadly there are an awful lot who have no really need for the benefit either and are just working the system.

I forgot to mention, that this particular Gala Bingo has recently been built on the site of an old car factory.

I found a photo of the Corsa sellers.

I expect their benefit was stopped when this photograph was sent in.

It's the woman who's on Disabiliteh, but it didn't stop her chasing the binmen up the road.

I genuinely think it's sad that people aren't allowed to be rude to each other any more.

Do you think my neighbours For Sale sign will hold my weight? Can someone lend me a tow rope?

In what way is that lazy cunt disabled?

Sure they were out of order but how dare she say the binmen should be sacked when shes probably never even considered working.

Fucking parasite.

We don't do much motability at the Merc garage I work in, but of the ones we have, I would say 50% are scroungers.

CASE 1: Middle aged couple bought a 56 plate C180 on 5 year Motability HP.

Wanted to know all the ins and outs of the towing capacity of the car because it need to tow their caravan on their holidays abroad!!!!!

They would walk in the showroom quite normally and sit drinking our coffee for weeks afterwards, standing and chatting to the receptionist and scoffing free biscuits. After a couple of months, they decide the car wasnt powerful enough to tow the caravan and tried to make out we'd mis-sold them the car so they could get their money back.

CASE 2: Young couple, quite well to do, (Motability isn't means tested) enquire after a car on Motability for their ill mother, to take her to the shops. Met the mother, who to be fair did have limited moveability .

What car did they get? Practical hatcback? Roomy 4 door saloon?

No, a frickin SLK!!! The poor woman could hardly get in it!! But at least they had a nice car to swan around in.

Motability state that the car has to be used purely for the benefit of the recipient of the disability award. In my opinion there should be a choice of ONE basic car, say a Ford Fusion, unless a hoist or wheelchair access is required. Then whatever is suitable.
