ClassicRetroModern. I usually do two large features each issue and am very happy to say they let me write what I want and print it on nice paper. I love this mag. Buy direct from the publisher. Current issue has a Tatra Streamliner and a Matra Bagheera feature from me. Very happy with this mag. Link here - https://classicretromodern.com

I also write for Absolute Lotus. Nicely nerdy. Issue 42 has my interview of Superhen. The guy is fantastic. Link here - https://www.performancepublishing.co.uk/januaryfebruary-2025-issue-42.html

And Copcectic is a funky new thing. So funky I still don’t know what the word actually means. A modern take on modified cars. I have a column in this. Trendier people than me also write for this mag. In issue one I talk about my favourite modified car (my Fiat 500). Link here - https://copaceticmagazine.co.uk

I’m in other stuff, too. If you really want a laugh at how weird I can be then this book absolutely tanked and Richard Porter said it was “fucking weird”. Wrote during lockdown about the real lives of 1980s TV puppets. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hands-real-lives-puppets-telly/dp/1686569793

And a thing I wrote about interesting and lethal alcoholic drinks from around the world. I am really proud of this but no bugger bought it - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Killer-drinks-compendium-lethal-alcoholic/dp/B08VR7VCXM

Happy travels!

Bloody hell! Just checked my sales. I sold about 10 more books than usual yesterday. Dunno if I’ve had a mention somewhere else online or FB or something but suspect Shiters may have clicked a few links above!

Thank you. I’m a bit piddled off with the world at the minute and this is a happy little boost.

This thread certainly helped, one copy of Confessions from quality control en route to Ireland.

It’s a very strange book! I did enjoy writing it though. Thanks!

One last interview done last night. Words will be all smeared over the pages today. Then photos get inserted then off to proof reader this week. Artwork guy on holiday. Why do I share all this?

First ‘print’ copy. It’s astounding how many mistakes you miss when looking at a screen. I’ll speed-read this on paper and mark up any changes needed.

I love the faces in the pickets lines.

When did Plod stop wearing the helmets immortalised in that line from The Young Ones when Neil briefly became an officer of the law?

I bought that when it very first came out. He'd have long since spent the money on coke and Brazilian hookers.

Read the lot in one sitting. Need to tone down a few bits, sort a little repetition of certain phrases, and double check I’ve introduced the right characters in the right order at the right time in the storyline. Pretty chuffed. Have also spunked a couple of hundred quid on photography. More work on this tomorrow, I hope it’ll go for proof reading in the next day or so.
