Vinyl records anybody?

I'm still constantly amazed at the number of people who genuinely believe that vinyl is completely worthless and obsolete, just because they stopped selling it in Woolworths about 20 years ago. I'm (arguably) not even old enough to be a vinyl freak, but I've long since learned to just walk away whenever someone at work asks "wow, do they still actually MAKE record players then?" or something equally inane. I usually end up being quite insulting to them otherwise.

Sorry, probably should've fired this at the GOMT really...

My vinyls are 'archived' as is the record deck as there is no practical way of integrating it into the current system.

The plan is to buy a Sonab amp

and possibly speakers

to complement the Sonab deck. Then find somewhere to locate it :(

What on earth does that have to do with Autoshite?

Vinyl all the way for me. Nicer to own, sounds better (IMO) & doesnt jump around like CD's do.

My deck, and most of my vinyl, are in the middle of a shelf in the living room, next to my (then very expensive) 80s stack hifi, and just above my huge speakers.

No, Mrs_Duke does not like them being there, but it was the one thing I insisted on.

I love my black cds as my young ones call them, its quite funny on how they can't get their head round that a 45 usually only has one song on, wifey often asks me to get rid of my black cd's but she will go first, I still get a thrill at finding an album I have owned since year dot and have played to death as a kid at a car boot sale in perfect condition to replace my old scratched one, still can't get rid of the one I replaced either, I keep them together. I play them on the £10 pioneer stack system I got off ebay 4 years ago that would have cost me a grand to but 20 years or so. Records live on forever!!!

Best response evah! Top find Seth. And to think - I complain when the CD player in the BX goes all skippy. (maybe I should have actually fitted the CD player properly...)

Shouldn't matter how or where it's fitted, in-car CD players read ahead and play back from their memory, that, and not any physical condition, is why they're able to play without skipping on those occasions when they do. Most common cause of the problem? Marmalade on the lens.
