A couple of nice Maestros on Retro Rides

That beige 'L' spec one is full of massive win!

Maestros are such good value. Loads of giffer owned low mileage ones about in good condition at bargain prices. I predict they will soon increase in value and become the next MK1 Golf. Or something.

Bargainz. Are these a bit rough to drive, I always remember the ride was a bit harsh (I'm not expecting Audi build quality here).

Beige one is a honey. If the other is a turd blow diesel (as opposed to n/a) then it'll probably get raped for the engine by a Land Rover owner if not sold to go back on the road.

The diesel ones command a premium as they're quite cheap to run and a bloody good laugh to drive. Doesn't mean the others are that bad though and I found them to be better than some will tell you, though that's probably down to the terrible press they get/got.

The dizzler is only a N/A, so its pretty safe from engine rapage I think.

TBH, if I wanted some skinflint motoring, I wouldn't kick a Maestro outta bed.

A 1300 is always going to be "willing" as that's what A-series are, just blezz the tits off them.

I doubt they handle, perform or comfort any worse than an old Golf, just that they were cursed with BL-hangover image and dowdy paintschemes when new that only made them of interest tto those with early-stage senile dementia.

I like that D reg Maestro Diesel conversion, what's going on here though?

It currently uses the original petrol tank which I reckon is the problem as it does not have a return for the unused diesel.

Where's the returned diesel going then? :?
