Rusty Aussie childhood..

When i was about 3 years old my family moved out to eastern NSW to a remote sheep station in a funnily named place called Wallenbeen nr Cootamundra nr Wagga Wagga..we rented an ancient old farmstead off the local wealthy farmer..and eventually Mum got a baby-sitter lady in to help with us kids..and her husband ran the local junkyard.Occasionally we went to stay with her..so my playground was filled with heaps of old 20 30s 40s 50s shite..my favourite was a 50s Ford Customline..and id sit in it for hrs on the huge backseat...also on our property was a 1928 Pontiac chop down ute....when i was about 16 i went back to see if it was still there.which of course it was..i dreamt about building a Hot Rod but Dad wisely refused letting me bring it back to Sydney..

anyway..this is what is was kind of what is was like back then..

Don't aussie scrapyards attract all sorts of nasty snakes and spiders?

I thought scrapyards in Arizona are attracting the spiders and snakes...

That was all part of the general risk..Bob the Farmer usually just walked around with a shotgun splattering anything native that slithered..and actually..when me and my mate bought our $500 73 Caddy Coupe de Ville in Arizona 1988..we were stopping off at junkyard heaven..and i was standing at the front of the Caddy having a piss..and a rattlesnake slithered past nearly within range..
