Cheshire Lounge American Car Night (Pics)

This is two minutes from where I live. It would be rude not to go round.

Plus, I needed to get out of the house.

Sorry if the photos aren't my best, I'm a bit off key at the moment.

For me, the most beautiful car there. Tiny by American standards. And it was a 4 speed. There's not a bad line on a Stingray - I actually think that Pininfarina Rondine special looks worse.

C3 Corvette led by a SN95 Mustang that was far too quiet. Leaving in a cloud of tyre smoke accompanied by a bellowing V8 is obligatory.

Fatha_Wat said he saw this Bel Air make mincemeat of a 3.2 V6 TT when he was on the way back from work.

I also bought a MINT book on Hot Rods that I am reading to take my mind off work. These meets are held on the first and third Wednesdays of the month, and I strongly suggest that people join me next time - I've paid for entry and had a worse time before now.

Excellent as usual.

They can't half shift, them Bel Airs. Someone I know has one, before that he had a '79 Cadillac Sedan DeVille, that was pure fucking pimp.Sitting on the back seat was akin to sitting on a very comfy sofa. Probably the only redeeming feature of silly old Seppo tanks like that.

I went down to London to be a tourist for a weekend a couple of years ago (I used to live in London, but didn't go out as I 'hated London') and they had about 50 American cars in a little show on one of the bridges, I'll never forget that, it was about 11 at night as well in the summer. Those cars from the 60's/70's are frankly beautiful, they look so outrageous.

I must admit that front ends really don't come any cooler than this.

Don't think the grille on that Caddy is original, looks like a period 'extra pimp' replacement. The ordinary one wasn't much subtler though!Nice set of pics John, I love the Hirst spec LTD.
