It does apply but I live in the zone anyway so I have to pay to move off my street regardless

Ah BAWS. I hope it's something simple and you get to your destination. Good luck and ignore the road name, you're a legend mate

ta mate

it started to get a bit warm then deposited its coolant all over Donkey lane.  couldn't see where it was coming from didn't look like too much steam just coolant liquid and gauge didn't go into the red (assuming it's accurate). Suspect maybe a  core plug heater hose HG at worst case

There's a spare seat over here at my table in the Basket Weaving Club - come on over, preferably before Michael Gove can get here.
At least it's not raining.

and home.  recovery man turned up in about half hour but it was a Transit with a dolly so took a fair while to get it rigged up and on.

seems to be pissing out the water pump area which is surprising/annoying as itd only on about 18 months.  I don't think we overheated though so hopefully there is no head or gasket damage

some interesting stuff going into the show so anyone in the area I'd recommend popping in (its today and tomorrow)

You didn’t miss much. I got there at 9:15am and left by 11am, I was home for lunch.

The autojumble gets smaller every year and the quality of the stock is poor. None of the usual sellers that I got to know over the years were there today and I bought bugger all.

I’ll still go next year, mind you.

You didn’t miss anything x2. To avoid ULEZ costs and for convenience, I went there in the Quashqai.

Anyone going this year?  I used to go with a mate back in the 90s.  Loved all the autojumble isles, picked up lots of bargains.  I’m guessing it’s not as big as back then, but then my legs would appreciate that now I’m an old fart.
Probably go Sunday if the weather plays ball.

I'm nearish but no. I don't know how it survives given it's right in the expanded ULEZ - so there is a whole tranche of vehicles that will have to pay the additional £12.50.

It’s gone downhill a fair bit. Not been for about 4 years but it was a bit crap for at least two years before that, the autojumble folk just faded away. I went as my mate had a couple of steam engines that he attended with and I got in free. The fish and chip van used to be ace but I think it got torched by some pissed off traveller folk at some point possibly maybe.  The ULEZ will have impacted a fair bit I imagine.

Also people in London and the suburbs just don't keep old cars like they used to. Anything petrol '85 to about 2002 and diesel '85 to about 2010+ is now charged.

So they have just faded away.

Still thinking of going on the Sunday.  Don’t really have time, would be better off pulling the dash out of my T4 moho to start getting the AC kit I bought last year fitted.
Anyone going Saturday? Would be good to see/hear what you think of it…..whether it’s worth the money/effort??

@Peter C didn't exactly give it a glowing report last year

Yes, it was a bit shit last year.

In fact, the pageant gets shitter each year. I can say this as I've been going for the past 20 years, if not more.

I will still go because I need a few more bits for my MGB. I probably won't bother looking at the cars.
