I have always fancied another 80 sport when low and behold this jem dropped in my lap.

haveing been laid up at the back off a shed for years a true barn find i would say

and the best bit the mileage

the last time it was started:yikes:

so now the search begins to find parts to recomision the old gall.

I wouldnt have called it shite but mabe thats my heart speaking rather than the head it is a 90 quattro 2226cc 5 potter

Well so far the fuel pump is kaput, brakes seized,most off the brake pipes are corroded, clutch pedal stuck to the floor, tyres are an odd shape broken front spring, i have had it started after shoehorning a different pump and changeing the oil filters plugs and checking the timeing belt wasnt perished.After a while it started but wouldnt take any throttle then cut out after a few seconds now it starts and will run but only with the throttle aplied it wont tick over atall.there is now a pile off rust that has been spat out off the exhaust and the front pipe is now shot aswelli spent all morning on the phone trying to source a front pipe but they are no longer available apparently.so work has stalled as i darent run it up to temp as shes a tad on the loud side

It was an Audi 100 Avant 2.2 with a blown exhaust that got me addicted to that noise in the first place.Get some audio up.

My exhaust book doesn't even list a 2.25 Audi 80...closest I can find is a 1.8 sport for 1985 or a 2.0 for 1985 or 2.3 for 91 on

Though there is a 90 listing for a 2.3 part # AU88C

OOF, thats a cracker! had a couple of 80 sports,and a 90CD. Hope the headlamps are OK as they are impossible to find in good nick. I ended up putting 80 headlamps on my 90 as I couldn't get proper ones,and that was a good few years ago!!

Yes thats the last resort as that would involve a rather long trailer journey.

thanks for that but that is totally different it looks like it may be for the 2 wheel drive model:(

the front pipe on mine goes more straight down then a near 90 deg bend where all 3 pipes join into one.

the front silencer doesnt exist its a straight pipe right to the first box which is about where the VAR2x2 is on the pic.

then the rear silencer lies side on with a 90 bend to the rear twin exit.

this was my first 80 sport A120 OWW back in 1990 paid a small fortune for it.

this was my second and cheep as chips because it had 186k miles on it never stopped it going though as it was well loosened off

i dont have scans off my others yet

Friend of mine had a "B" reg one when the rest of us were running around in old Minis and Chevettes. It was like a Limo compared to our cars and I still find myself looking for them on the bay. Three Box saloons are the future. Good luck tracking down an exhaust. I was going to suggest PD Gough but appear to have been beaten to it!
