Was on a train to London the other week when the woman opposite disappeared down the carriage with her small dog on a lead before reappearing a few minutes later with a full dog poo bag and a now presumably relieved dog.

I had so many questions I wanted to ask but the better half wouldn’t let me.

Mattress in the back, what's not to like? Doggers dream car!Seriously, hopefully a happy ending(no,not like that!).Alan, the POs wish was for the car he'd owned for over 20 years to live at least a little longer.Rose, his wife is going to donate some of the money to the hospice that cared for him so well at the end.

Pleasure meeting you this morning @Dobloseven what a gent and now a friend. Car was very undersold but with lots of fettling potential. I hope its helped the previous owners grief knowing it will live on for a bit longer yet. 20240120_162205.thumb.jpg.5a4dc4d37bc4c7393dfaaf7cc7158eab.jpg

Rusty roof rack removed and already fixed a vaccum hose leak which was making her idle a bit higher than should be.

Worst bit by far is OSR arch which will require some creativity come MOT time but not overly concerned

That rear arch is pretty bad for one of those. Given age/value of car a job for fibreglass in the summer.

I was planning  to attack that with my new angle grinder if it hadn't sold on here!

Since the weekend I've done a few jobs to improve the old thing.

I've swapped the smaller battery which has been unused for a while with a more substantial bosch one I had lying around and is now secure.

Remote locking now working courtesy of a pair of fob batteries and makes it much easier to live with.

Radio code was £1.75 off ebay so that's another job done. Obviously Smooth on preset and ignore the hilarious external temp sensor.

The temperature gague was bit wierd, got up to temperature and when driving would go back to 0 and sit there. Changing the thermostat on these requires the cambelt to come off so that won't be happening. Could have just lived with it but read up on a mod which @Dobloseven mentioned.  Apparently using a modded Renault 5 thermostat which is the right diameter works. £7 and a few days later it arrived so drained the coolant

Got it drilled and installed, nice easy job
