Escort, BMW and a few others

My current cars,

escort owned since 2007, glad I bought when I did as they don’t justify the price tag they command these days

capri, bought 2009, has a cosworth v6 engine and bits now,

z4, was my dads, kept it when he passed away, not used in 6 years  needs a new engine

bmw 525i, owned since 2022, making it into a sport/M5 type replica,

mazda truck, owned since 2017, write off in 2022 but fixed it

transit, owned since 2023, hoping to make it into a camper, have it listed on eBay atm though, as don’t have the time really to do it

ugly Renault thing, owned since last year, as general children and dog carrier,

could really do with slimming the cars down, as everything needs work and everything costs loads 96997642-E2D3-47AC-B176-4C77116BE348.thumb.png.19a793784eb6a892dc8da9477c2ae064.pngB12EB246-2166-4AA4-A32F-B7FD04B399B0.thumb.jpeg.793de5aa4090f52db492cb125af27ce5.jpeg0B13B0B7-E5E2-4D37-A2E8-D4EE73270CBE.thumb.jpeg.107242b3df3806fecb07b0bde5f420f2.jpeg3B85EF5B-6DCF-41CF-855B-6707B1E81CFC.thumb.jpeg.f37595f7407d581f287335bcf72b037b.jpegF73644C1-04DA-47E4-81EC-DF0B0CDB200C.thumb.jpeg.de25519924277f91ad692136924e1353.jpegA6009596-A128-48F9-A291-1E20CC2BFECC.thumb.jpeg.a35f676a112df38f7d2b747ae360c46a.jpeg5DEAD61E-5866-4400-8558-2264B1659297.thumb.jpeg.dffc06950fdd47adc32a61a12095f957.jpeg

Ran off to ebay to find my fund's somewhat lacking for the transit. Don't suppose you fancy a mk7 stuffed with a few motorcycles and a caravan on the back in part ex?

Haha. Nah I’m good for a part exchange. Sell your van and motorbikes then come buy my transit for £7000.

Not an interesting update but the green Renault thing, needs such a lot of suspension bits, brakes all round, at least one driveshaft, oxygen sensor, windo regulator, A/C topping up and one tyre and tracking.

was easier to get a better car, so bought the same car so I now have a complete parts car, I can stick behind the shed and take bits when ever needed.

as a daily run about its not a bad car

the bmw has had its welding and now has an MOT. Just need to get the interior collected from the trimmer

How do you find the Koleos? They are remarkably appealing at market prices

I think they are great, they share engine and mechanicals, with x trail, Qashqai and the juke I think, but because they are badged as Renault and a bit funny looking are cheaper.

Finished the door cards, and swapped the wood trims, the interior is now nearly the same as a sport model, a previous owner re did the headliner etc in black which saved me a job.

Might get some orange seat belts.

Took the brake shoes out and got the hand break leavers un seized.

hand break works. Brake shoes aren’t about a thousand degrees while driving anymore.

cheap pop up gazebo was worth buying as it pissed it down as soon as I got started.

33 degrees here today.

bit too much for it.
going to flush it all out and get some new hoses and radiator cap I think.

I had Prestone anti freeze in it, but it’s just like rusty water. So need to get some decent coolant in it.

it wasn’t overheating on the gauge, but had got very hot.

I replaced all the hoses and flushed the engine and heater box out.

some decent coolant and it all seems fine now.

cleared the car up yesterday. I’m taking it to my wedding next week so, had to give it a spruce up.

Yeah newent. Was going to go last year but was a wash out. Only live down the road from there. Are you local?

Yeah I’m in dymock. Looking at your profile I’m sure I’ve see you near the cross roads at the top of newent high street.

Cleaned up the detachable tow bar I stripped off another touring I broke for spares

there was already a normal tow bar on the car but I had angle grinded the hitch bit off to put a uncut bumper on.

cleaned up and replaced a bumper bracket too as it’s was rotten. Slapped some under seal about on everything.

wiring was already there so that saved a job, checked it and it worked fine

put the sport rear bumper on just to see what it might look like. Need to get the bumpers painted now.

That looks ace fair play 🥰🥰🥰.

I had one years ago,E34 2.0 pez estate and while it drove pretty well, the 2.0 was so underpowered in it along with a load of other issues I had with it I hide never gelled.

Looks the part that one and 525 was a much better engine for the size of it.

Mad to think these were everywhere years ago and I can't even think of the last time I saw one.

That’s a lovely looking wagon you have there.

Cheers the 520i isn’t too bad. Be nice to fit an e36 m3 3.2 engine. Same block I believe so fit straight in.

yeah. All been gobbled up by e30 boys for the 525 engines and the sumps off the 2.0 and 2.5 engines. Now there none left.

MOT failed on a fuel leak by the fuel filter.

I’ve been under it today, had it running and no sign of a leak. I’ve swapped the filter and checked pipes for tightness.

exhaust is rotten tbf. I have a spare so will swap that, need to get under it and give it all a wire brush and paint up on the suspension.

trying not to get any deeper into this car money wise. I like it but still got a hankering for something older.

Crawled under the car to swap the fuel filter and check for leaks.

exhaust looks rotten. Pulled the spare I kept from the e34’s I broke, quick lick of paint.

Will get that fitted, apart from the basics. Hoping I can keep tidying it up and use it

Was rotten

new one looks lost now. Didn’t fit the m3 exhaust tips on the replacement exhaust. Might have to fit them or find something else.
